It will be my first track day with my SFV4 in about a week’s time. It’s my first track day ever.

I’m wondering what kind of adjustments do I need to make to make the bike track ready?

Should I go in with the stock setup? Or what do I need to do?

There is no electronic suspension with this bike so I’m not sure how much adjustment I need to make.

Appreciate any guidance on this!

Air pressure on the tires for sure. The manual should give some guidence on track pressure. On the Panigale it goes from maybe 30.5 PSI to 25.5 PSI or something like that. Front stays the same.

I'd get the sag set for your weight in gear before making any compression changes. Rebound may need a slight tweak if you are adding preload. Watch some Dave Moss videos to get an idea of what's going on, or find a suspension tuner at your track day.

You can see if there is a suspension guy at the track. I actually used them on a track day a couple of times and they are incredibly helpful. It might cost $20-$40 But for me at least it was worth it. Just a thought tho

Set the preload (front and rear) to your weight and leave everything else stock so you have a baseline.

Front static (bike only) sag 25-30mm. Rider front 40mm.

Rear static (bike only) 10-15mm. Rider rear 30mm.

when I read these sort of posts on forum I always ask the question, if the OP is asking what kind of adjustments he needs to make the bike track ready he even states he's "not sure how much adjustment to make" .....will he realistically understand and be able to implement things like sag or anything else techy?

The best and simplest of advise is at the track get some advise from a professional.

Even if you're not sure of what adjustments to make, preload is still THE place to start. Even an advanced suspension tuner would begin there.

While the OP doesn't know all that much about making suspension adjustments, he or she is capable of learning after being given a little guidance.

The owner's manual, the document no one reads, gives adjustments for street (default) and track riding. But, it all beings with preload.

Sure everyone can learn, to a degree.

Id say it all begins with tyre pressures...

Which will be different than what the manual lists for the street. With the Panigale V4 the front pressure is the same but the rear is reduced for the track. IIRC, it goes from 30.5 PSI to 26.0 PSI or something similar. I'd use the manual values and get the preload right before getting too into the weeds with tire pressure though.
