Here is the obligatory forum noob post. 
I put the deposit down on my 1299S with D&D Cycles (those guys have been excellent to deal with) and joined here to do some research.
Once I get the bike, like I do all of them, I will ride it on the street for a month or two to "bond" with it, then I will start racing it.
