Some brake pads state very clearly, "for track use only, do not use on the street". I can see why this would be the case if the pad compound needs to warm up before it reaches its target friction coefficient.
However, for 3 years I've used such "track use only" pads on my 1299S - Galfer G1300. I've emailed Galfer asking why I shouldn't be using these as street pad, but haven't gotten an answer.
To me, the G1300s are a slightly more aggressive version of their street/sport G1375 pad. Other than that, I haven't noticed any difference and certainly no areas where the pads don't work as well.
So...what gives?
