What’s the difference between a 2019 v4r frame vs a 2019 v4s frame vs a 2019 v4 base frame?
V4R frame has holes cut out to add flex the early S and base didn't

Not sure if the R versus S subframes have different mounting points on the engine though, cause obviously they are different engines.
That’s my curiosity. I’ve got the entire 350 mile v4r that was parted out on this forum at my place (minus front calipers, damper and frame/title).
Considering buying a wrecked v4 (to use the frame) but want to make sure everything will bolt up properly
Subframe mounting is the same between R and the S the difference between the two engines are obviously the swingarm mounting point, the early S model was 4mm lower i think? The engine casing is still the same between the two. The R engine has pankyl ti rods, shorter stroke and a smaller diameter rotor on the alternator. You can fit the R adjustable pivot into the S engine you just need to purchase the inserts.
Hey Bruce, does this 100% work? I've been trying to get to the bottom of that conundrum for a while.
The 25 Anniversary 916 version has cutouts specifically tuned for the track, I think it was the 1st non R to have them, it was one of the reasons I bought the bike when deciding between the V4SP and the V4R at the time. The 25 Anniversario 916 was the most track capable of the non R versions of the V4 out at the time, the closest thing they made to a homologation of the V4R and V4S, and the only of the numbered addition bikes that actually had some useful stuff built into it beyond just a different livery and a few carbon bits bolted on.

That’s the pic Bruce posted
Below are the cutouts on my frame, they have a plastic cap insert but you can see the shape.

The 25 anniversary 916 (lovely bike, not sure about the #1 though) may have been the first non R to have that front frame but it's used on all of them now, my 2021 V4SP has the exact same part number and i'll guess and say the V4S too so not sure what other "useful stuff" is built into yours that's not on the V4SP?
Agreed, when I said it was the only useful thing that came on the bike compared to the V4S that was at the time I bought it when the V4S didn’t have the cutouts, after my bike came out a lot of stuff that was supposedly ‘trick’ on the bike at the time became standard on the newer bikes…all planned by Ducati of course lol
I still think it’s one of the better looking liveries…
Meh, I bought mine with about 500 miles on it, so I didn’t pay the “Numbered Bike” tax….some guy bought my bike for his son and Superleggera for himself and the son never really road it so the Dad returned it on the same day I was in there deciding between and R and an SP.
Was just lucky timing and good discount for essentially a new bike is why I bought it…plus I liked how it looked, I still think it’s one of the better looking liveries they’ve put out.
It does look really nice actually, reminds me very much of an 888 SP4 or 888SPS.
No numbered triple clamp though? I would have expected that model to be numbered, bugger.
