Frame Sliders

Yup...installed them on my bike! Excellent fit and finish....expensive, but you get what you pay for. Will protect your panigale from simple lowsides and tip overs! Good investment!

Thanks for your inputs. I just got mine yesterday. Did you install yourself?
I'm afraid of breaking something.

The Ducati service man told me that they're sacrificial. They will break to minimize the impact.

the concern is that those sliders will transmit the impact straight to the engine. any thoughts?

The slider puck will take the impact and lets face it is easier to replace then other crash points. Noting your valid concern, I understand that the impact energy is transferred along the engine suspension braces on which the slider pucks mount.

Pros :

* Can help avoid time and resource spent on addressing crash damage.
* Designed for Track.
* Well engineered.
* Excellent styling.
* Can be DIY installed (suspension recommended)

Cons :

* Pricey.
* Availability (although not on a par with Italian delivery times)

Summary: Upfront investment on probable savings related to time, resources and hassle associated with the crashes. Best sliders available, quality and well worth the investment.

@CaliDuc, love you bike. It's armed inside out. The only thing missing is a display glass lol.

T-Rex, TRex, T Rex sliders

What are your thoughts on the T-Rex (T Rex, TRex) engine/case sliders?

Looks to me like these are the least likely to rip the engine/bolts apart. All the anchor points of the Sato Racing sliders without the "stalk" that always bends when you slide and catch anything on the pavement. You guys agree?

T-Rex said they laid a Panigale down on cloth to test their sliders and the fairings never touched!:eek:

One of T-Rex's customers went down with the slider on (along with axle sliders) and the fairing never touched either.:eek: Just had to replace the scuffed T-rex slider and his bar ends.

Just what I've been searching for: case/engine sliders that protect the engine AND the fairings. Seems like T-Rex might be the answer.

Best of both worlds?

Sato Racing Engine Sliders

Hi all,
Turned out the sliders won't fit on my 2013 Ducati Panigale because the bike has heat shield installed. The right inner bracket won't fit.

That's not good, someone needs to tell Sato. I have non-OEM (Lightech) CF heelguards, and the right side bracket wont fit, but not really needed.

Do you happen to have details here? I don't quite understand where / how it would interfere. :confused:

I have installed the T Rex sliders on my base and am very happy. Super well designed. While the left side does protrude alot, the way that it is mounted should spare damage to the mounting points, as they are at super rigid places. They even put a rubber block under it to distribute the load in a hard hit. I do believe with axle and bar sliders that the fairing would survive a low side.
I did run into one minor problem. I have the the Ducati GP shift link , and had to shim out the left slider with a few washers to keep the link from dragging on it.

Resurrect and old thread.

Hey I really like the look of the TRex sliders. These install ok on a 2014 panigale base model?

These look to offer great protection. Just want to make sure they fit!

The Sato web states on the R will require removal or modifying of the heat shield for the right hand side

Anybody know if the Bursig Lift Stand will work with Sato, read that T-Rex will not work :confused:

Sato Frame sliders

When I look at the photo of the right side slider, it strikes me that the slider is mounted using the "thin" bolts holding on that right side engine cover. It seems to me that any slide at speed will create enough torque on that mounting bolt to not only crack the outer case cover but the inner one as well. Not being able to see this up close maybe I'm missing something. The frame sliders I've purchased in the past for other bikes all seemed to be attached to the frame itself using huge diameter bolts.
