Front Brake Pads

Sorry for the out of topic answer re brembos...

But when my front pads needed replacement...I went for the EBC-HH sintered pads with part# FA447HH. These are super awesome pads...dramatic improvement over the stock oem brembo pads. No fading during trackdays and street riding! Ofcourse, I bled my brake fluid as well...

Ordered another (EBC-HH) set as spare.

So the OEM pads are marked HH and as I had a problem with my brakes juddering when braking to a halt from under 15mph I decided to go ahead and replace the pads. My dealer tried deglazing the old pads and chamfering the edges but this made no difference.

I chose the Brembo SC compound pads in the end:

I'm still bedding them in, but they are a marked improvement over stock pads fitted by Ducati and the slow speed braking noise/juddering is gone. Part number is 07BB37SC.

They feel a little shaper than the stock pads and seem to fade less. Haven't hammered the brakes yet, so I don't know what they'll be like on track.

I went with the SC pads aswell, can confirm they do fade less on the track compare to the stock pads.

Not sure about the merit of sintered pads. I used to use Carbone Lorraine pads but whilst they markedly improved feel through the lever, they eat discs like there is no tomorrow and that's with sympathetic use.

Organic pads are for cruisers or for the rear brakes of sport bikes whose riders find that they are locking up their rear wheel to much when braking. (Organic pads have less bite and thus a longer stopping distance; they are also easier on the rotors.)
Stock pads on almost all sport bikes are sintered HH pads.
I use the Carbone Lorraine brand of sintered pads on my Speed Triple -- what is most important in determining the byte on the rotor is not so much the brand but the grade of pad; that is, stopping power is dependent on the grade of sintered pad used. HH are best for street and novice/intermediate track days and come stock with our bikes. Other grades of sintered pads are more aggressive, give you better stopping power, but may have too much initial bite (personal taste) for the road (and are harder on the rotors).

Check out the video associated with the link I posted (above). It provides a good overview of the different grades and best uses.
