I changed the brake fluid today and bleeded the system. Afterwards they do not feel the same. It seems as though there is more grab more than before. Anyone seen this behavior before?

Breaks?

More grab would make me think they are better than before because you bled some air out of the system. A better explanation would be helpful to understand what "more grab" means in order to help you out.

Yes, I would bleed from the master cylinder as well.

I have to pull the front break lever a lot more than before. After pulling I have about 1.5 inches of space between the grip and lever. I do not recall this being the case prior to change the fluid. Thanks!

this may sound silly but do you have adjustable break levers? if you do and they are closer to the say handle bar you won't get as much bite right away.

when i moved to fl someone must have played with my levers. i bled the brakes and was like what is going on here. as i adjusted the levers they went back to normal

I thought about that. However, no one adjusted them. I am a little hypersensitive as this is my first time doing the fluid change.

Sounds like you still have air in the system. Bleed it again and also bleed the master along with both calipers.

All set now. I clamped down the front break lever a for few hours and it is back to normal. Thanks everyone for your help!
