Can anyone recommend a front of rear sprocket change on the 1299? Would I need rear or front or both. Looking to achieve low to mid range.

The cheap route is front sprocket -1. That's equivalent to about a +2 1/2 rear. This option will allow you to reuse the stock chain. You'll lose a few mph on the top end but who cares. The expensive route is changing the pitch from the oem 525 to a 520 conversion. Obviously you'll need to replace everything and prices can range from $350 and up but you'll also have plenty of options for different combinations and colors. If money isn't an issue and modding is your thing, then 520 conversion is your only option. Save a little bit of weight, get some custom colors and increase low end grunt. 15/39 is oem setup on base and S. 15/41 is R setup. I've got 15/42 setup and love it. Anything past that and you'll be rubbing chain on the swingarm.

I had dealer put the R rear sprocket on to change it to 15/41. Made a noticable difference on some of the twisty, low speed roads where i live. Cost me £160 all in. Bargain I thought.

When you said I would need to replace everything did you mean the sprocket and chain? Or were there other parts that would need replacing. And what is it about the 15/42 setup you love? Can you explain the difference in ride between a 15/41 setup vs a 15/42 setup?

Sprocket and chain as far as function goes. If you wanna save more weight, you can add titanium cush drives. If you want looks, you can add a flange.

It's not gonna be a huge or maybe even noticeable difference between a 41 and 42 rear. I simply went 42 because i wanted to add the largest rear i could without problems. Hell, I've never done past 120mph on the bike so top end is not what I'm after but my throttle used to be jerky enough with the throttle spacer mod (still tryin to get used to 0 slop from the factory on my dragster also) so a 14 front woulda been worse and more shifting of gears, which is why i just focused on the rear only.

I went 520 conversion 15/42 AEM quick change setup (not that I need it), 3D chain, and AEM flange. My bike is 99% looks even though it's modded with performance parts.

If I didnt want the AEM quick change set up. Could I just get the Supersprox Stealth sprocket and chain without getting the flange? And if so what size chain for a 15/42 and 15/41 setup

Sure you can. As far as chain length, I'm not sure. I think if you order through them, they cut the chain to the proper length based on which sprocket size you go with.

1 tooth down on the front and remove one chain link keeps the geometry correct I believe.

Thanks I will look at this website and see what they offer and what i may buy from them and take the guess work out.

If you buy from them see if they still have free t-shirts, I just put my old one in the bin after many years.

I guess since I have this rizoma rear hub cover there is no need for a different flange? https://www.motovationusa.com/ducat...my=Ducati-1299-Panigale-2015&attribute_values[3527]=88607

Did you wind up changing your cush drives?

No.

I have the Rizoma axle slider too but still wanted a blue flange.

One last question. Im sure I have too but I want to make sure. My buddy is ordering everything for me for both my S1000R and for the 1299 so cost isnt really an issue since it will be at dealer cost through him. He owns an online parts company but isnt that tech savy. For my S1000R Im getting the 520 42t rear sprocket, 17t front sprocket and 520 3D chain. For the 1299 the quick change 520 42T sprocket, 520 3D chain, flange. And lastly I will also need a front 520 15T sprocket for the front, am I correct? I cant use the stock front sprocket on the 1299 since its for a 525? Going to get my 1299 wheels powder coated anodized gold which is a two stage process since they have to powder coat them a chrome color as well. So Ill most likely get a gold flange and maybe gold sprocket. S1000R wheels are being powder coated Illusion cherry since the few parts that arent carbon fiber (tank, radiators covers, lower belly fairing) are being painted BMW black sapphire metallic and will match my lightech R rear sets.

That's correct. New 520 front sprocket.

Im getting the CNC racing rear sprocket, CNC racing sprocket carrier, CNC racing flange and bolts. However I didnt see CNC racing front 520 sprocket. Which front 520 sprocket did you get? Deciding whether to get the cush drive. Since its at cost the superlite will cost me $117

That's correct. New 520 front sprocket.

Was the front sprocket difficult to change on the 1299? I saw how the S1000R front and rear were changed and that didnt look hard. Ill do the 520 conversion on my S1000RR as well. But first want to do it on my 1299 and S1000R. And I saw how the rear was changed on the 1299 which didnt look hard either. But that front sprocket looks like its out of sight
