Tried the search function before posting this question in a new thread, but could not find what I was looking for
Can anyone give some feedback on possible changes when I would switch to a front sprocket of 14T instead of the standard 15T?

Thanks you pani-lovers...:D

You will get more low end. Dropping one tooth is like going up three in the back. I actually considering doing this myself for better low end.

A slack chain, then messed up ride height

All fixable, but annoying all the same.

Can you elaborate a bit more on this?
In theory, a smaller sprocket will mean more slack in the chain which you'll have to adjust for with the rear hub (to remove slack), which typically adjusts ride hight a bit.

I believe the correct fix is to remove a link from the chain, otherwise your talking a big loss in ride height, as you turn the cam adjuster fully to 3 o'clock, resulting in very slow steering.

Did it on my 916 and was a nightmare, but at least that had a variable head tube angle.

Yep

It's not a problem. Yes one tooth down will lower your gearing, and cause slack in the chain. Just measure and record your ride height prior to making the change. Change the sprocket and adjust the chain tension with the hub. Then adjust the ride height rod (the adjustable rod that goes into the shock linkage) to get your ride height back. This change will make the wheel base just a tiny bit longer, but the bike will turn the same and all will be good. Not a big deal. I am doing this on mine next weekend prior to our Putnam race.

Any feedback on the change towards a 14T sprocket?

Had you done a reflash on the new maps for the EMS? i was flirting with the idea to go for 14T sprocket, but after the new maps update, i felt that there is better torque and drivability then before and put this 14T conversion on-hold.
Currently with full termignoni not sure if you are, but base maps update is for stock exhasut too. This is my personal first impression only.

why drop 1 teeth i'm not able to use full throtle until 3 gear , I pull wheelie in 4 gear with no problem , I thinking t use a 16 teeth in front

It'll be easier to handle with shorter gearing. A toppy motor is harder to feel than a torquey one and shorter gearing will fix some but not all of it. Let's say it's the poor man's engine mod.....

-1 on my Multistrada, 1199 and S1000RR. Cheapo seat of the pants performance upgrade!

Friends don't let friends ride with tall gearing. ;)

I did it mainly because of the problems at low end that was fixed by the upmap. Now with the upmap, I have to mount lead weights on the handle bar to keep the front end down! :D

With a 14 t sprocket, doesn't the chain rub on the swingarm from the decreased pitch ?

I was trying to find a 14t sprocket and no one has one. When I called the the dealer he mentioned that the 14t sprocket will chew through the slider and eat the swingarm because of the decreased pitch ?

That's crazy! It is working fine, and I am not th only one that did this. I got the whole AFAM aloy kit, and along with the 520 chain, took off alomost 7lbs!

Try Motowheels or here:

That dealer is wrong. AMS Dallas Ducati recommended and installed a 14 tooth on my 2012 and my 2013 MTS as well as my 1199.
