Hi All , What is everyone using as a front stand . Is anyone using the head stock stand?

I have a head stock stand that I used on a S1000 and a R1 but can't get it adjusted to suit the V4 . Just wondering if I should modify it or get a new one.

Pitbull hybrid stand:

It’s a headstock stand that can be folded in half to become a fork lift stand.

works well and convenient. Getting the pin in place takes a bit of finesse while using the headstock stand, but after you get the hang of it it takes less than a minute to get the front in the air.

I have a pitbull hybrid as well as mentioned above, and use the fork bottoms for everyday use. I rarely use the triple tree attachment, it puts too much pressure on the factory nose fairing and can risk breaking the plastic tab.

I bought these "PSR Power Jacks" last year and have been really impressed with the simplicity and find myself using them often. They go on your engine sliders (to lift the front) or footpegs (to lift the rear). Easy to use, simple and stable. Cheap and not bike specific.

I use the fork bottoms on the hybrid all the time as well. I don't quite see what you're talking about the the triple tree attachment. When I use it it doesn't touch the fairings or the black plastic under panels at all. I just put a towel on the front fender while positioning it.

another vote for pitbull stem lift, be sure tp buy the right pin and install it in the proper direction...although i will way that squeeze between the lower front cowl and the front fender when you slide the lift in is very tight, i put a piece of clear vinyl on the top of the fender to avoid scratching it up when getting the lift in there..this may be a problem that only i have though.

This worked for my 1199, but not the V4. The pitbull piping is too thick and would not make the clearance for the nose fairing on my v4.

Take the stand apart at the hinged joint, so that the fork lift and yoke lift are separate.

Fit the yoke lift in place under the nose fairing and seat the pin. Then attach the lower section. Takes approx 1 minute.

Agree with everyone else - the Pitbull stand is a bit finicky for placement. The Pierobon is less so and lighter, but considerably more expensive. Once you try them though (Pierobon), it’s hard to go back.

Gee-Tech, I like that you can get nuances you may want, quality is tops. In general, hard to beat Pierobon as well. For shop and home, damn the Handy lift with some select attachments is a game changer. I dont know how you guys work on bikes without a lift.

If you know the manufacturer, they usually sell different sized locating pins.

I have a bag of spacers it came with and have a 27 that fits. The problem seems to be that the headstock is heaps deeper into the bike . I may have to weld a longer piece of metal from the main frame of the stand to the pin but not sure what that will do to the balance point .

I’ve reached out to Gee-Tech a few times, but he has never responded to me. From what I’ve read, I’m in great company. You’re definitely lucky to have gotten some.

I have a normal front stand that perfectly fits all other bikes with the square bottom of the forks but the ohlins are round and sometimes the stand drops the bike.

I think they are focused on contracted orders they have for their co-sponsorships and are quite backlogged. Don’t at all take it personal LOL. They are certainly hit or miss
