So I just received my Full Six matte carbon fiber front fender and matte carbon fiber piece seat cover that slides into the solo rear section. Really top notch quality stuff. I was extremely happy with the purchase. While it does appear that the full six matte front fender and solo seat cover appear to be more matte and their twills slightly different from the carbon fiber rear fender and carbon fiber exhaust shield I bought from Oklahoma ducati at 15% off that goes under the seat those two slight differences break up all the red on the bike. Had I heard about full six carbon I would have ordered my parts from them. I did however order the 2 piece gloss carbon fiber rear tail section, front and rear fenders and side tank fairing set for my BMW S1000R. The tank fairing set is on back order and I may order the front fascia as well. Here are some pics of my S1000R. Will probably order the tail section for my S1000RR this week asa well.

So I decided to hold a bit on ordering the same tail section for my S1000RR that are in the picture above of my S1000R. Im thinking of ordering the BMW tail section from Ilmberger. The full six tail section is 1 piece and 1 piece for the rear light extension. It was a bit troublesome to mount the one piece unit and not have it crack when trying to get it around the subframe and then snapping it in. Plus the little rear section mounts to 6 points on the tail. 2 mounting points to the under tail and 4 point ( 2 on each side ) of the big tail. However the middle mounting points did fit because the tabs that stuck out from the main tail didnt fit into the little part. There was no cut out in the small rear section. So it didnt fit or line up at all. So I cut the tabs off. Seeing that this tail was 1 unit rather than 2 pieces it seemed more rigid so I felt 4 mounting units would be strong enough. Ilmberger said they didnt have that issue (friend is a dealer so Ill get it at a much better cost).

Anyway back to Ducati talk since this is a Ducati forum. So I installed my Full six matte carbon fiber front fender and this seat cover I got from opp racing https://www.oppracing.com/product_display/255160-fullsix-seat-cover/ the seat cover was a perfect fit. Regarding what I wrote above in my previous post about the rear fender looking a bit different. It actually is a Full six rear fender. My sister got it for me for my bday last year and told me today she bought it from opp racing and its made by full six. And I removed the front fender today to put it against the rear along with seat cover and the twill on all 3 look identical. It may have looked different in the garage in the light.

So my next purchase will be the left and right seat/tail strada. Full six makes a 1 piece unit for each side and a 2 piece unit for each side. The 1 piece unit is big enough where when mounted it gets rid of the 2 small red pieces along the seat cover. Here is the 2 piece unit by full six https://www.oppracing.com/product_display/255154-fullsix-seattail-strada-right/ . For a few dollars more I will order the 2 piece unit for each side and can either make the entire tail section carbon fiber. Or if I want I can leave the small red pieces along the seat cover and just make the outer side tail carbon fiber to make the rear look carbon and red. Ilmberger only makes the 1 piece unit for each side like the 1 piece unit by full six. Here is a link from Carbovani so you can get an idea what the 4 piece carbon fiber tail will look with carbon fiber seat cover and then imagine if the 2 carbon fiber pieces running along side the seat were left red using the oem ducati plastic https://www.google.com/search?q=duc...UICygC&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=iFOqhGWeKU9vBM: and how it looks now with just the carbon fiber seat cover ( link is not my bike. Ill post pics once bike is done with tail all carbon fiber and with out tail carbon fiber and slats red) https://www.google.com/search?q=duc...UICygC&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=JpLPNtVvxyb67M:

With regards to CF. I have played with complete kits from Carbonvani, CDT, Ilmberger, Shift-tech, Riba and Advanced Composites. Riba which is the Ducati house brand has the best stuff, also the most expensive. Their 1299SL bodywork, fits better than my CDT pieces. Ilmberger is great stuff but limited in selection. The Carbonvani stuff i have seen has been on the lower side of quality from a fit perspective that the rest. Bottom line is that it seems all the vendors have something that fits well and something that does not. I have had stuff from CDT that was horrible leaving me scratching my head how it left QC and i have had CDT stuff that fits like a glove. I use the 1pc CDT tail so I did not have to screw with all the pieces. As refined as the market should be, it just isn't yet except for Riba. Advanced Composites is still prototype but so far looks very good. Hope that helps

Like Endo says it's definitely a hit n miss with carbon bits from most the manufacturers. I too have tons of CDT bits on my R, Carbonvani, Shift Tech and my MC carbon bits which fits better then all the manufacturers but can't speak for llberger but sounds like it's decent stuff. Carbon World also actually makes some descent bits but watch out for there not so good packing n shipping.

Thanks for the imput guys. I will keep all that in mind once I install the full six tail and then start looking for other parts for my S1000RR. But at the same time cant wait for the front fascia to arrive for the S1000R. To bad its 6-8 weeks. As soon as the Full Six tail is on Ill post pics of the bike.

Mick1976 makes some nice pieces as well. He is spot on with regards to this stuff much more so than most and certainly more than I. You would think it would be old hat at this point but it is in some aspects, difficult to work with. I have seen the sophistication at CDT and its still iffy at times.

On another note. Does shift tech make their own carbon fiber. When I compared the look of his subframe matte carbon fiber cover set to the Full six pieces I got they look about identical in my opinion. Color, twill look as if it was the same manufacturer. And when looking at the undertail exhaust cover from Ducati , the ducati oem matte carbon fiber looked darker, twills smaller and a tad bit shinier

Not sure so I do not want to say. A lot of the smaller stuff is farmed out. CDT has multiple lines. They also have an OEM line that is very accurate. They make all the CF belly pans for BMW and numerous other OEM applications. As you can imagine, the process is a bit more controlled and has to be correct. A little massaging to fit is not an option in factory parts.

So far I like what I see from Full six with the exception of the way I had to cut away at 2 tabs on the tail. But again since it was a 1 piece tail as opposed to the stock 2 piece and Ilmberger 2 piece I figured it is more rigid and maybe it didnt need 6 mounting points and 4 will be enough. Time will tell. And the other parts I got from them all fit well without modifications. Maybe I will end up with the full six rear tail with extension for my S1000RR like on the S1000R. I already know what to except in terms of fit. Their tails fit the S1000R years 2014-2016 and the same unit fits the S1000RR years 2015-2016.

I got a bunch of first run CDT 1299 carbon. It was horrible. Nothing fit. I do use their carbon tanks. No complaints. The Carbonvani tank I had was a POS. I have the first 1299 CDT carbon 1 piece tail/subframe. I was skeptical when I got it as it was so light. 13k miles later, its rock solid.

Is Full Six CDT's higher line since they said it was the elite line? 4 weeks ago when I spoke to my friend who is a opp racing dealer and gets me my carbon fiber he said OPP racing told him that Full Six did make a fascia for the S1000R. They gave him a part number and pricing. He lost it and has been emailing them for the last 3 weeks with no answer regarding the fascia. He became a Ilmberger dealer just so he could get me the fascia. I really dont want the Ilmberger since they already told him their carbon fiber doesnt look like Full Six carbon fiber. He sent Opp racing another email asking to order the front fascia. Its not on their website or catalog but their customer service rep said full six made a fascia for the S1000R. If they dont can you recommend a company that resembles full six? Even though its up front and doesnt come close to the rear fender, tail section, extended tail for the brake light or tank cover. The front fascia is still close up to the full six gloss front fender. And being the way I am if i notice the difference between ilmberger and full six that will drive me crazy LOLOL

I'll call Patrik (owner OPP) tomorrow and ask. You were probably dealing with Ed. Patrik is in Canada. Their distribution is in SF.

The name Ed sounds familiar. My friend who is an OPP dealer told me he spoke to a gentleman by the name of Ed about some parts. I believe he put the order in for me for the tail strada for my panigale. Should come in during this week. And Ill post pics of both the 4 piece and 2 piece.

ok the 4 piece matte carbon full six tail strada is being sent tomorrow. Maybe it will arrive sat or monday. ill post pics of both variations. One with all 4 carbon fiber pieces mounted along with the carbon fiber seat insert. And the 2nd variation will be of the small red Ducati oem pieces to the left and right of carbon seat cover and the bigger carbon tail strada pieces to the left and right of the small red plastic pieces. Cant wait to see how it turns out.

Only other carbon fiber I may add to the bike is the matte carbon bulk head set and Im done.
