Full system burn

One of the guys here (in VA) installed the full Termi's on his Tri color and now has a burned (right) side panel where the cutout for the pipe is at.......
I'm currently waiting on my S to deliver and have the full system on order.... Anyone seen/ heard of this?
Guessing, due to lack of discussion on the various blogs, this is an incorrect install VS issue with the system.

This is one of the reasons I'm sending my pipes (full termi) off to be coated - cuts way down on transmission of exhaust gas heat through the skin of the pipes.

I'm opting for the Jet-Hot EXTREME 1300 coating polished. Less than US200.00 in about a week's time, door-to-door (in North America).

They arrived at the dealer today and I'm shipping them off to Jet-Hot tomorrow. They'll be back before the bike arrives - sadly.

Yup, incorrect install of system and/or potentially the bodywork.

On the RHS fairing, I had to adjust the side pipe to stop the spring-clip from touching the bodywork - it did cause a tiny point that melted though.

Also, clearances around the Termi heat shields is very tight.

That's what I was thinking (hoping) was the case..... Going to keep an eye on the outcome here locally; think they'll do the right thing and cover it.
