Full System Without Upmap?

Hey all looking to pick up a 1299S I found one with the Akra full system but bike doesn’t have the upmap as exhaust came from revzilla.

Will a dealer do the upmap? Or would I have to flash it with a stand alone to get proper tune?
 
Dealer will sell you up map and charge to install but i highly suggest not to go that route and invest in a proper Dyno Tune (around 500 bucks ), you can also send out your ECU to a tuner to save a few bucks(300-400) bucks. One thing is certain you are not to ride that bike without a proper Tune for that exhaust unless you want a bigger headache, I would be concerned on if it was ridden without the flash, no one puts on a exhaust then trades it in. Previous owner was probably a moron.
 
I know bike was ridden without the map. Might call a dealer.
 
Is there another option to flash proper maps into the ECU or are they all standalone/piggy back types that need a dyne tune?

I have Brenn Tunining and they are amazing, they sell a hand held so you can flash yourself into the ECU, but you can mail out your ECU for a flash too, theres multiple Tuners that provide that service.
 
I have done it on cars this would be my first bike sounds like bike only had less than 300Mi without tune on full system. So think if I get the tune in it should be ok.

ok so not to bad i would say its good to go as well but dont continue to ride without it, Enjoy
 
Having the full akra on your bike without a tune or upmap is perfectly fine. Akrapovic designed this exhaust to work problem free without an upmap. Is it gonna be the best option? No. Is it something to be concerned about? No.

I ran my 1199 without an upmap for over a year. There was no upmap option for the evo exhaust for the 1199 but eventually i ended up buying a termi full exhaust upmap n have been runnin that for 3 or 4 years. I didn't need it but at $125, figured why not.
 
My 1299s has the full akrapovic system on without an upmap or remap, how do you call it for 3 years now, without any additional problems except what’s everybody expressing with the bike stock. The system came with that key. But my dealer warned me not to connect it to the bike without they’re diagnostic equipment (don’t know why) so I left it like that. I’ve never found the time to take it to the dealer since is far away ( in Hungary) from where I live in Romania. Why can’t I just plug that DDS key or how is it called without the dealer’s oe diagnostic tool? I’m currently waiting for the tuneboy tool would that tool help me with any thing?
