Had a chance to visit a stock from a dealer lately and found a piece of carbon fiber nobody knew what it's for. There was just a hidden label saying

"Protezione Scamb. 1199RS" 46015701A

Put it on the SL, fit's quite nicely (it fits to any Panigale). It's a heat exchange protector. I put some gold foil below to isolate the space between the protector and the exhaust. I hope this keeps the oil a very little bit cooler?

Interesting to learn that the heat exchanger is in place on the RS. It was gone with the modded radiator I am using and I was sure it would not be in place in a full bread race panigale. Thanks for sharing.

Was just on the Phone to my lcoal Stealership about some tires while reading this thread, I got him to input the number into their system for the lulz.

Nothing came up..... :-( guess my dealer isnt worthy of RS parts

Its from the 1199R full Termi exhaust kit. There would be 100 parts with that kit and that Carbon piece is one of them. Its the Superbike kit not the one shipped standard. Don't think you can get them anymore.

May inquire regarding the red object where the clutch cover normally is ? Looks delicious ! Is it a dry conversion kit or a fancy cover ?

How long did it take you to figure out what that piece was for?

Hmmmm, when I took it I thought it could be a battery holder.
I've always got one naked Pani in my man cave so I just held it against the bike (heuristical approach :)). It was immediately clear what it's good for.
Actually I'm pretty happy: The MotoCorse Ti pipes do not have a heat shield near the H-cylinder exhaust outlet. Even with the OEM exhaust with the Aluminium shield it get very hot down there. Plastic fan holder started to melt.

After replacing the fan holder and installing the MotoCorse system I put DEI foil on the parts. I can highly recommend this stuff. Very thin, highly adhesive and insulation is amazing. You'll find it here: https://www.designengineering.com/c...gineering-inc/heat-sound-barrier/reflect-gold

Off topic but did you ever dyno the MotoCorse pipes? I'm figuring a boost in the midrange from the extra volume.

Gecko, I have to reach for my dictionary now after reading your post. Thanks for posting the link re foil. I used similar stick on foil on the underside of my carbon fibre Akra heat shield on my full system. My CF shield has not discoloured or cracked. I put two layers on and it is still sticking fine. On over two years now. I think a good idea for anyone fitting CF heat shields.

It does nothing to keep heat of your legs it just protects the CF from degradation.

I am sure I am the only only dummy that did not know this word, but in case there is another one on the forum, see below. :)

Oh yeah, I use DEI gold everywhere! Plus, it looks super pretty and shiny! Really pops out on a sunny day.
