Two more track comparison between actual superbikes, the first made in Germany (a little bit older, don't know if somebody already posted the link), the second in Switzerland. The first here, written in german. Result: 1. Aprilia RSV4 RF / 2. BMW S 1000 RR & Ducati 1299 Panigale S / 4. Yamaha YZF-R1 / 5. Honda Fireblade SP & Kawasaki ZX-10R / 7. Suzuki GSX-R 1000.

The second is not available online. Compared were the Pani 1299S, the BMW 1000RR, the Aprilia RSV4 RF and the Yamaha YZF-R1M. There was no final rating. The five testdrivers only told which bike they would prefer. Interesting are the measured power values at rear wheel (european versions of the bikes, absolutely stock). BMW: 190.5 HP 13300rpm, 111.6 NM. Aprilia: 189 HP 13700rpm, 107.6 NM. Pani 187.1 HP 10800rpm, 132.1 NM. Yamaha: 180.6 HP 13600rpm, 105.8 NM.

1. Aprilia RSV4 RF The Aprilia RSV4 RF is designed with the utmost consequence racing package. From the compact, tremendously strengthened V4 engine through to the delicately balanced chassis and the sophisticated electronics. Rarely has a Test victory was so clearly.

2. BMW S 1000 RR With comparatively comfortable sitting posture, gentle load changes and optimally attuned electronic aids the BMW S 1000 RR is also contrary to the drivers far that does not belong to the professional league. The superior engine is not contradict.

2. Ducati 1299 Panigale S points equal second with the powerful BMW S 1000 RR - respect! In this comparison, it is all about the potential for fast lap times, and it has the Ducati 1299 Panigale S a lot. To use it, however, requires enormous effort.

4. Yamaha YZF-R1 In the design of the chassis, the Yamaha YZF-R1 is the same path as the Aprilia RSV4, but remains an inch. Greater the distance with the criteria power characteristics and response. More thrust from below would help also on the racetrack.

5. Honda Fireblade SP The main reason for the backwardness of Honda Fireblade SP on the top is the engine, which is simply a lack of performance from 9000 / min. That the Fireblade still tenaciously hanging on the stronger Kawasaki ZX-10R, speaks for the high quality of suspension and brakes.

5. Kawasaki ZX-10R Points with the Honda Fireblade SP, albeit at the lap times a little bit faster. Probably its builders have chosen gear ratios with respect to the high-tuned Superbikes, in standard trim it lacks the Kawasaki ZX-10R of torque.

7 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 ABS alone does not fast. The Suzuki GSX-R 1000 needs at least 20 more horsepower in the upper speed range. The necessary further development, in their move could spend her a modern electronic equipment, it has long deserved.

the S1000RR motor is hard to beat. It has been and remains the very best "screamer" inline-4 motor made for a 1000cc sportbike - in terms of outright power and user-friendliness.

Maybe I was approaching the bike the wrong way, or the suspension was set up poorly, but I found my S1000RR requiring a lot of physical effort to get it to change direction. Conversely, it was rock stable at ANY speed.

Yes, the 1299 requires a fair amount of body movement and physical fluidity to get the most out of it. But it's easier to radically shift body position on that bike than any other, with the possible exception of the RSV4.

I am a lot more confident in my Ducatis because I feel the road better, especially the front end. Ironic, since that has perennially been the weak point of the MotoGP bikes :p
