Hi all

Just got a GoPro and took it out the other day - what amazing quality you get with these things! Aside from it shutting off after 45 min things went well.

Now that I have a few 3.5GB files to contend with, what are others using to convert and edit these things?

I'm trying VLC to convert from MP4 to AVI right now, it's slow.. might need to upgrade my poor computer :(

Then I downloaded AVS Video Editor - looks good so far, only poked around the GUI a little.. wasn't ready to actually do anything.

Just wondering if other people are using other tools

Thanks!
Mr Neutron

I am using Adobe Production Premium CS6, but you need a 64 bit computer. I sometimes use Final Cut Pro on my Mac, but iMovie will work fine for basic editing.

iMovie comes with Mac, but yea, Adobe is pricey if you don't need it for work.

That's subscription based now right? I got CS5 off TPB, but I don't use it enough to warrant pirating it so I no longer have it. For my video editing needs, I just use Windows Movie Maker, CineForm Studio, and Handbrake.I'm excited, I imagine this will be coming out soon:

PS SOld my RC8R and have more goodies for the Pani :D.

Being a photographer I also have CS6, but for movies I find it simpler to use Windows Movie Maker...and I've got some fun vids out there on youtube :)

VideoLAN - VLMC, open source video editor

I bought my last upgrade from them, done. Really pissed me off. MS Office doing that as well. You would be forced to pay an annual fee until you die, pretty much. No more upgrade, you have to buy the complete product to get new features.

if you do have a mac, and can take the time to learn the ends and outs iMovie works great but Final Cut is really nice but very pricey....

iMovie makes doing edits and uploading to whatever media means you want very easy....
but im an apple whore...

So what's on the brown truck for your toy?

I use Windows Movie Maker also (OP - it comes with Windows 7 and above and is a free download, I think), it's got all the basics and I'm too lazy to learn anything else more complicated. What's your YouTube name?

I mainly use AppGeeker video converter and it works great for what I'm trying to do.

It comes with video editing and conversion all in one place, very nice software.

If you are interesting in it, download here: how to convert mp4 to avi format

PS: Windows Movie Maker is free and OK for basic edits. You need to download the proper version as it has a few more features than the default than comes packaged with windows.

Hopes it is helpful.

I bought more CF; the swingarm cover, air duct covers, and am waiting on the Lightech Gemini Mirrors to reach my suppliers :D.
