So I'm looking at the myriad of ads on CL for barely used GoPros. I've seen a ton of 3+ cameras plus mounts, extra batteries, etc for around $300-$325 here in San Diego.

Just wondering if all of you camera pros use the 3+ or have moved on to the Hero 4?? It seems like the 3+ is good enough as far as frames per second and angles. The new 4 just has a touch screen as far as I can tell. Not sure what 4k recording means haha?!?!

Here's a link to the one I'll probably get for $325:
GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition Bundle

Thoughts?

Thanks......

4k recording is just that 4x the quality of hd. Unless you have a 4k tv ir monitor you'll never tell the difference. I did get a hero 4 silver but only because it's what was on the sshelf when I walked in. The lid screen is nice, but not a must have. Hell I still use my hero 1 a lot since I have 8 of them.

The new Hero 4 Silver is the same hardware/capabilities as the Hero 3+ Black with a touchscreen added so if you're thinking Hero 3+ Black you may want to look at the Hero 4 Silver if all other things are equal.

Unless you intend to do a lot of slow motion and need the extra frame rates the Hero 3+ is probably fine.

if you dont want to spend that money and its just for track riding why not get the garmin. you can get a brand new garmin for cheaper than the go pro used. garmin on amazon for like 250. does the same thing with supposedly longer battery life. that price is for the top of the line virb. way cheaper for the base.

Nice! Good to hear GoPro is not the only game in town. That's a cool camera. So for $350, I think the package I'm getting has a bit more since it already has a remote, sd card, extra batteries, and case. If these CL peeps flake, I'll definitely check back on this Virb!

I still like my contour + too. The profile allows me mount it on my under nose for a motogp style camera. It also has gps tracking built in.

gps tracking in the virb elite not in the virb.

was going to say the same. make sure you pickup the virb elite, not just the ordinary virb if you want gps. i have virb elite and gps is helpful. also be prepared for a much bigger camera with the virb series over the gopro. i have a gopro black 3+ and i have no plans to upgrade until at least the 4+.

Craigslist flakes are the worst haha. It's almost not worth the savings dealing with these tards :(. Got a guy who has a new Hero 4 for $200. See if it comes through?!?!
