Ok, so had a problem on my way to the local Ducati ride last weekend, going from light to shade with fine gravel on the road the same colour as the bitumen, front went away very quickly, not going particularly fast but the bike slid through a concrete culvert, suspension mounts snapped, tail gone and tank buggered, unfortunately beyond repair.
Got up dusted myself off and looked for the bike, it was in the table drain across the road right next to a '79 SS, he had done exactly the same thing 20 minutes before I arrived, very sad day.

Damn that sucks sorry man. As long as your good that's all that matters!

Wow, that really sucks, broken ribs are horrible, but glad it wasn't any worse. It makes me cringe when I see guys riding in shorts and t-shirts with chicks in tiny shorts and tops on the back. I have crashed enough times in the dirt to know that protection gear is critical, even more so on the street. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Ihad the jacket and gloves on, just the jeans in the wash, and you're right, it would have been much worse in shorts and tshirt. The knee was bad enough, they had to scrub it to get gthe gravel out, wouldn'i want that done too often.

Sorry to hear.

Would have been nice if the 79SS guy had taken steps to make sure no one else came to grief.

He was pretty banged up AbleDuc, I got out on the roed and slowed others down till emergrncy services arrived, they cleaned the road.

Sorry to hear that and that's why i always wear full leathers with back protector even with Texas heat in the summer (38-42deg C)

Sorry to hear that. Which road were you traveling on?

I think i seen up in Newcombs before, recognize the AGIP sticker. Hope you get back on the saddle soon.

Ok, time for a quick update on this, I have been pretty quiet about the details because I was waiting for insurance.

What had happened was that I was overseas and so missed all my renewal notifications, my drivers licence had expried 5 days before the accident and my insurance policy had expired 3 days before the accident, so I was unlicenced and uninsured, I was sure the insurance company wouldn't pay out, to my surprise, they have, very happy about that. '13 Pani with 30K on the clock and they paid my agreed value of $26k. Stoked with Lumleys Insurance here in Aus and the years renewal was $450-00 as opposed to $1300-00 that most charge.

Big shout out to Wilkson who put a few of us onto them a couple of years ago, great company, well worth the switch if any of you Aussie guys are looking at renewal soon.

Hi Joh, glade your ok and things went your way. My insurance policy is due soon so will look into this company.

Good to hear. I switched to Lumleys also a few years ago from QBE when Wilkson mentioned it here on the forum (Thanks Wilks). Good to hear that the paid up. Are you buying another Panigale ?

Not sure yet Brad, I'm going to be based out of Canada after Xmas so I'm trying to decide if it's worth having 25K sitting in the garage that will only be ridden about twice a year.

$26k Aussie is about $19k US at the moment, still a pretty good price for a bike with 30K on the clock, agreed value is a good thing.

American insurance companies would have to you to bugger off and not paid you a dime.

I was actually expecting the same here DC Panni, we have recently had a government investigation into the insurance companies and they are a bit shy of controversy at the moment, I think that may have helped my cause a little.
