This being my first post I welcomed myself to the 1199 family with my recent purchase of a 1199 s. The matted black. I listed my residency as tijuana cause that's where I spend most of my riding time. I have has suzuki's for the past 7 years and finally decided to take the leap on constant persuasion from a friend. The two previous bikes I owned were a gsxr750 2007 and then gsxr1000 2013. I still have the 2013 and am debating on selling it or giving it to my friend as a gift for his 750 and then selling that. His decision... he's been only riding for a year and is worried that the 1000 is too much bike. Being as competitive people that we are he now wants a nicer bike. He's looking at the 2015 1199, bmw hp4, mvagusta or bimota.

I need some upgrades now and looking for recommendations from knowledgeable people. One thing I have to say is the seat is so uncomfortable, I need to get a better one ASAP I have heard that the race seat made buy ducati is more comfortable and better than their comfort seat which pushes the rider forward. I'm only 5'8 so I can get much higher up. Next is an exhaust system. Akropovic or termignoni full system only. I guess im going to get used to the sound of the ducati when I'm so used to the higher pitch sound of Jap bikes. Just like my upgrade from a mitsubishi evolution to an audi s5 with a full akropovic exhaust system. Any feed back is welcome. One more thing I need to clean up that rear fender I like a clean look of only the plates

thanks guys glad to be part of the family. going to be asking a lot of questions so bare with me

Welcome Oneninja. I have always thought that a great ride would be the toll road from TJ to Ensenada. You could stop in Puerto Nuevo for lobster and gas :)

I also have an S5 as well, it's my second one.

Nice bike! They look even better in person.

I take that ride weekly... Open roads, maintained freeway unlike city riding in tijuana. Usually don't go all the way to Ensenada but I do frequently stop in nuevo for some food... I'm allergic to seafood which sucks cause it's all about lobster but the ride is fun and chicken fajitas are good. Just hate all the guys trying to get you to try their restaurant. My favorite and go to place is the one at the end of the main street upstairs with a front row view of the Pacific.

That's the one I went to a few years back on the way to riding the Baja 1000 route. Good food, great view. Felt bad for the mariachis getting stiffed on tips so hired them to serenade the group of girls next to us. Great memories from that ride.

Cheers and welcome.
