I'm new to the site, new to Ducati and new to the R. Picked up my new toy Friday before the snow started. It's still snowing. When will it ever end?

It's been many years since my last bike so I dug deeper and got the 2014 R. I can't even play with it in the garage. It's just too cold. I guess I'll spend the time getting it's bed in the basement shop ready and removing the YAMAHA lettering from my leathers (Ha - Yamaha)

Lol welcome. You guys are supposed to hammered again tonight for a few days. We just got done and still have some ice. Come on late February. Grats on the R.

welcome to your new toy and to algore's global warming. biggest scam redistribution of wealth in the history of man kind.

anywho soon it will be april and we will have wsbk motogp and riding weather

till then we have nothing unless you like nba mls or hockey. i hate them all but could like hockey.

powers that be want to ruin football keep pushing soccer down our throats and well hockey if i cant watch the games are there games?

I have gotten 2+ feet since last weekend here in Upstate N.Y..I m starting to go CRAZY!!!! So sick of winter!!!! Nice on your new BIKE, awesome choice.

Gobozo....

I have the forerunner of your Yamaha. 91 FZR 1000.

Ported head,flat slides,Megacycle cams,aftermarket ignition box.

The bike made right at 150 to the rear wheel a few years ago.

It not worth anything so I'll likely keep it forever.

Chris

Congrats on the new machine, I have the same model and it's awesome to ride, where I live we have the opposite problem it's very hot, today is forecast 42degrees Celsius (107.6 degrees Fahrenheit) can you send some cool our way please, the 1199 heats up fast in our temps around town, have fun on your new machine when you eventually get out there.

I honestly didn't know people really doubted global warming. I always thought that was a joke.

Yikes.

maybe you should read actual scientists not people that depend on govt grants or things of that nature. CO2 a polutant? really dude here is a little bio 101 we breath out co2 so plants can make o2 if no co2 we die. you are in san fransico so i dont expect you to think like a person. funny how good old algore is almost a billionaire while not doing anything his entire life but be in govt. oh yea that scam again.

if you have said amount of pollutants and say country A can only produce 50 % of that and country B produces none of it. then country A buys the other 50% of country B supply you still have the same amount of pollutants and country B just got rich by doing nothing except selling what it never used in the first place. its called redistribution of wealth.

all the data is fudged been proven over and over but if you tell a lie long enough it becomes true kind of like o care

The fiddling with temperature data is the biggest science scandal ever - Telegraph

this is a little old but why tax the rich doesnt work trying to fix the drones one at a time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=661pi6K-8WQ

I've had a great time riding the YZF and experimenting with it over the years. I didn't have a great deal of money back then but quite a few people who found what I was doing interesting and contributed to the ultimate result. When I raced it in 2004, it was one of the best handling and fastest bikes in the amateur GTO class. The steering stem assembly was designed and built by a first class machinist (rest his sole). The dog bones by another. GMD Boston built the Ohlins front end, and I put together the rest with contributions from Graves for the fairing bracket (with the help of my F-in-L), Attack Performance Rearsets and Performance Friction for the pads working Bremob CI rotors (one of the first bikes most of my buddies every heard with full floating rotors - they click). Hydraulics were Brembos with great feel and little effort even with the added pressure of race springs. Even the tranny had treatment from Pro-Fab and a billet clutch basket from Falicon, just to name a few.

Eventually the crank split in two during a race and left me with a second place finish. Ultimately I finished with the season on top, but over the years of working for my bar exam, the motor had to wait for a rebuild with the help of my wife.

Even thought the fairings need a great deal of repainting (and maybe I'll get to that someday), I still have fond memories of the bike and love to sit on it now and again.:)

I encourage you to name a single accredited scientist that refutes man-made climate change.

While you are in a teaching mood, can you please explain evolution and gravity? I just can't trust these scientists.

On the bright side I can start drinking arsenic again. Since it is produced in nature there is surely no way a large quantity of it could be deadly.

You guys go ahead and work this out, while the rest of us either go ride or mess with the bikes. Enough said.

there are about plenty of scientists but you refute them because your a leftist and if you dont agree with you then they have to be demeaned. what does gravity have to do with global warming.

i dont know how old you are but the same guys saying the sky is falling in the 70s said we were heading for the next ice age lol carry on

ps

no name scientist like judith curry
freeman dyson
steven koonin

cant ride my road is frozen and there is an ice storm here (the irony kind of like the ship that got stuck in the ice to prove there was no ice lol) or i would put that good old fossil fuel into my tank and ride baby but its too damn cold even with gerbing heated gear. maybe he should give up his ducati and his car and pedal in san fransico.

on second thought libs dont do that they tell others what to do like pay more taxes. nothing stops you from giving the govt more money but they want theirs but you cant have yours.

see you in april at the track burning that high octane fuel
