Sorry in advance if the pics don't show, I'm noob at posting. Basically it's my new lid with UClear HBC 200 communicator. I use it mainly for listening to music. The GT Air is quiet, doesn't fog, and overall great! I just wanted to share.

I ordered the white one with black strip and red accent. Ride a lot in the summer and the black is just too hot. Wanted my head to stay cool and not cook.

Anyway I wear glasses and don't have prescription sun glasses and it was a toss up between the Bell RS-1 with Transitions shield or the new Shoei GT- Air with flip up sun screen. The problem with the Bell is there are not any dealers that carry them so you cannot try them on. I have always liked and have a Shoei and all the write up I have seen on the new GT-Air say they are super quite which is what I like so that is what I bought. I did get to try one on before I purchased and boy was it comfortable and snug, nice and tight around my neck and my glasses fit just fine under the shield.

Had to order from Cali as it was the only one at this time in the States my size. Should get the first of next week.

Got the black one last week. Love it!

Thanks for sharing. How does the GT air stand up to other helmets from the shoei range when it comes to noise? I have a shoei xr-1100, very comfortable and quiet.

question, why couldn't you install the ear pieces behind the cheek pads, do you get muffled sound rather than plastic pieces resting right on your ear

The only Helmet that I would consider outside the x series. Planned on putting in Sena with upgraded speakers. I just want it for music mainly. WHat sre the best sounding speakers?

This is my first Shoei so I have no basis for comparison, but it is very quiet in my opinion because I used to have my music set to full volume but with the GT Air, I can hear it very clearly at half volume.

I tried that, unfortunately the cut out shape of hole doesn't let the speakers sit right and I didn't want to cover the microphones on the speakers. The plastic doesn't really bother me, unnoticeable really because it's kind of recessed in the paddings anyway.

I've never had a Sena, but these HBC 200 have very loud speakers with the added bonus of boomless mic. These are great for just music and my wife also has one we use for intercom. The advantage Sena has is better control access with gloves on. The HBC 200 takes some getting used to because it's hard to feel the buttons with gloves on.
