Coming onto the highway in second gear, shifted into third and hit it about 75% throttle.
Somewhere in the high revs (7-9k) of 4th gear the bike completely shut off.
Lights, display, engine, everything shut off for about a second.
Computer booted back up immediately, but I was studdering hard with any Load on the engine.
I had to downshift and baby her off the side of the highway, by which point I had regained normal throttle response.

I hopped back on the highway and made another hard pull to see what would happen, and all was fine.

Im thinking maybe a loose connection to the computer, or ground from the battery?

2012 1199s, 3xxx miles, full termis, and up map.

Have had a couple stalling issues before at slow speeds. But never anything like this.

Thoughts?

Did you do the charcoal canister removal? Could just be an electronic glitch. See if it happens again and take it from there imho. :)

that there was either a temporary loss of electric power isn't in question. Even if the battery wire came loose and out of contact for a second, the stator/rectifier thing would still be providing juice. So a short somewhere else or....a short in the ignition switch. Something to the effect of simulating turning the key off and on again.

What's kind of odd though is the limp mode behavior as the OP slowed down. But if the bike had become normal again without cycling the ignition, then maybe the motor was just unhappy.

Anytime anything weird happens at speed, I instinctively pull the clutch in and start looking for the closest place to stop. Thank god motorcycles do not use power brakes! BMW flirted with power brakes in the mid-2000s, and that did not go well lol.

That's what I'm thinking.

I figured the studdering was due to the computer having reset, and the engine relearning the operating conditions.

No charcoal canister removal, but it wasn't the engine that triggered the stall, it was certainly an electronic malfunction.

I have some maintenance scheduled next week, so I'm gonna have them so some troubleshooting in the meanwhile.

Praise warranties.
