So I wanted to try my new suction cup mount. It fell off twice haha. It lasts about 10mins but this road is pretty bumpy. Thank baby Jesus for the tether. Had some fun trying the tripod shot I started the video out with. Good times. I'm getting better with the GoPro studios for editing. Thoughts? This is 1080p at 60fps. Anyone think 30fps can be better?

It's just practice with a Gopro, lucky you had sense to use a tether!
I stuck the suction cap same place as you and had no issues but, not as bumpy a road by all accounts.
The music competes with the engine and I personally would prefer the sound of the engine than that particular piece of music!

Yea I like the engine sound too! I feel ya. But this new Foo Fighters is awesome haha!!!

On my other vids, the wind noise becomes the problem. Anything over 40mph and it's all wind. Is there a windscreen or something that works for wind?? I've read mostly bad reviews on the GoPro for wind issues.

It seems counter intuitive but 30fps will give you better video, less vibration. Remember your raw 60fps video needs to be compressed down to ~30fps video so unless your are using video stabilization during your editing your video will be hopping all over the place.

Also, the suction cup starts to vibrate too much at +100mph so I use adhesive mounts that work great and come off with hair dryer with no residue.

Thanks man. I did notice 60fps hops around. Today I tried 2.7k resolution at 30fps and am gonna check out the footage later.

I used those adhesive for the tethers and it's crazy how they come off with some blow dryer heat haha.

More to come......:)

if you go with 30FPS you will run into a problem with rolling shutter. Makes the video look like it was shot through jello. shooting at 60FPS or higher can limit the amount of rolling shutter effect in the video but you still need to pick someplace where the engine vibrations are at a minimum.

the higher resolutions are good if the video lacks sharpness but generally I shoot 1080P 60 with the field of view set to narrow. I'm not a fan of the super-wide distorted view.

Suction cup mounts suck. I hate those things. I'm sick of ducking and dodging someone's gopro + mount that fell off at the track.

I agree, track organizers need to make it mandatory to have a securely mounted tether to both the mount and the camera.

Thanks, and whoa?!! Don't guys use tethers?? I'm scared sh**tless the GoPro will fly off as the crappy suction mount lets go. Which it has every time do to the leverage the mount has once vibes pick up above 60mph and even less mph on more bumpy roads. Can't imagine one falling off on a track lol. I'm gonna get that triple clamp mount made for our Panigale.

Do they make MotoGP style gyro-mount yet for the tail section yet??
