We had cake today, a bit early, and had pipes and read Order 47, then the Commandant's messages aloud. It was nice. The oldest had his piece, then handed it to the youngest.

I just logged on here to post up a special birthday message to all Marines on here and saw this thread. I can't tell you how much it truly means to me to see this here and I really wish to thank you guys for making my day!!

Happy Birthday to ALL Marines near and abroad, here and buried, and to the many thousands who fell on the fields of battle so we may enjoy our freedoms- that of motorcycles and wind rushing past us dragging a knee!

Thank you ALL Veterans, your actions are not in vain!

Many thanks yesterday for the Marine Corps birthday wishes folks!

It is always followed by Veterans Day which I reflect on AL those - alive and gone , who raised their right hand for the US (not sure what similar day you other folks hold outside US? ) so thanks to all of you who did!

The MARINE CORPS Birthday (not my own) was Sunday November 10th. People seem to still wish me a belated one which is flattering. And of course we have Veterans Day which I just sat in a recliner all damn day watching TV films on the Vietnam war and how ...... everyone treated those Vets back then and how our Govt got so far into a war for NOTHING!

Again, thanks to everyone for wishing me (and all other Marines) a Happy Birthday but my real one is in March! I will be sure to let ya all know when so you can send me things for my Tricolore! :) - like I need anything else :eek:
