Has anyone ever used "Tune Boy" ??

Search is definitely your friend here.

If you don't mind waiting and basically left trying to figure things out on your own with minimal to no support due to lack of response/customer service, then this would be the choice for you. He's far too busy to run a one man show. Go the rapidbike route. Far more satisfied users and customer service/support is second to none.

I have the TuneBoy with cruise control. The system works great, but doubleO is correct that their customer service sucks. Wayne basically answers your emails when and if he damn well decides to. The system is very easy to set up, there are no components to mount (unless you want the separate "bump" buttons for the cruise), and the bike runs far better once installed. It also allows for custom tuning down the road. If you use the programs Wayne supplies for the OEM exhaust, Termi slip-on, or full Termi system, they still are set up very rich (I had mine on a dyno for a power run and mixture assessment) even with an aftermarket air cleaner installed. TuneBoy also allows you to do clutchless downshifts if you install a 2-way strain gauge on the shifter.

Yea you should do a search and plan on spending a couple hours reading lol. I would say unless you're a MS Windows whiz, installation of the drivers for the wb-01 device can be a real PIA. Then only to run into glitches on the TuneBoy Trim software. I've now confirmed with MANY fellow TuneBoy owners we all have similar glitches. Not a huge deal but it woulda been nice for someone to mention to me in advance so I didn't go crazy getting this stuff to work right.

I installed cruise nudge buttons and strain gauge shifter for clutchless downshifts. I got everything in their Xmas sale and glad I did. Nudge buttons are awesome except they didn't design the center button to work. Typical of TuneBoy haha imho. New QS is very cool but fine tuning of the rev match and shifter pressure is needed. Again, when trying to fine tune it, the software has glitches so changes down't always take so you gotta be ready for that. Took me 2 days to get the shifter and cruise to work correctly.

All in all, glad I spent the money as the bike is running fasssssst and good and sounds AWESOME with Phil's cored exhaust.

Oh, and consider yourself on your own. TuneBoy has not responded to me in nearly 3 weeks with a throttle remap question I have and don't plan on hearing from Emma or Wayne. Sad effing state of affairs for as much as this stuff costs, you'd think they'd hire a few techs or something

Thanks a TON "helpful" guys! I'm aware of the bad customer support. But does it come with great instructions? Or where do you get all your information and answers?

I'm aware. That thread was started by me. Wasn't getting specific information, so I started a more specific thread. Dude.

are you kaido with a different user name now??? that's the thread I'm talking about, so unless you ask a specific question that thread has the answer to your question. yes, many are....and talking about it.

Thanks dude! You've been super helpful!
I was talking about my old post that briefly mentioned it!
Do you literally just wait for a post so you can ridicule people? Or did i just happen to be the lucky person?
I'm sure I'm the only one ever to post a question that had already been posted before. And for that, I am greatly apologetic. But hopefully, just maybe, you'll forgive me. And maybe let me stay on this forum of "yours". I'll hold my breath until I get your answer.

regards "ridicule" actually no, not normally at all...I was merely pointing you in the direction of the discussion that has been active in the last few days.

Well not sure how specific you want to get. I bought the "tune AND cruise" software. You get a package with the stuff including a cd. It comes with possibly outdated tunes, so you have to go to the website and download the most updated software. Then on that software bundle, there is a PDF that has a 53 page manual. As we have all complained, it glosses over VERY crucial things and minimizes other important things.

So between fumbling through the crappy PDF, a ton of trial and error tries, you'll figure it out. IF you're mechanically inclined and don't give up easy that it haha :D. I can't underscore enough how the instructions suck and you have no help from TuneBoy.

A few other members and I have PMd each other and compared notes and software glitches, but I'm still trying to figure things out.

Education is 99% self taught. It's not brain surgery, but close haha. Also, I had the nudge buttons and QS to worry about.

If you are just getting the "cruise" or "cruise and tune" .dat software, it's basic. I can plug my laptop in and reflash the ECU in 30secs now and I am more confident in what is happening. Then the ECU will have a new tune and up to 3 trim files to switch to and from in 5mins from start to finish.

Anything else specifically you'd like to know? I wish someone would have told me some of this stuff haha

I don't get why some guys get upset with a new thread?!?! Sometimes a fresh start is good. Reading through pages and pages of info can be rough. Plus new info comes out and some guys don't know about the old threads and don't want to search.

It's not like the server is going to run out of room for threads haha.

Dude, ruley isn't the one who's f'd up here. Guy makes a post which really doesn't ask anything, and reads like it was written by a 6th grader. Never mind there is a metric .... ton of info about TuneBoy already on the forum.

I mean, this is the epic content by which this thread was started...

Has anyone ever used tuneboy? It looks awesome. Supposedly makes the bike way smoother and gives you cruise control.

Where can that possibly go? lol

i never got upset at all, that was pretty docile really....more of a piss take than anything

i agree 100% new threads can refresh things that are left dormant for a while but this on actually supprised me considering it's been a very current topic.

So many haters on here. Guess I'll never get away from them. Hate us cause they ain't us. I'm on a bunch of forums. The BMW forums. The Toyota Forums. Suzuki forums. (Got too many toys) But they might be the worse right here in the Good ol' Ducati forums lol. Doesn't really hurt my feeling any. Just gets old after awhile. Why someone takes time out of their day to tell you their way is better than your way. Maybe they were deprived as children... or adults.

Either way, I appreciate the helpful individuals like yourself. I guess I should have been more clear in my original post of what I was actually looking for. My primary/main concern is this:

Does it make the bike smoother?

I don't need more power. Don't really need Cruise, although that might be fun. But what I really want is to get my bike smoother. I love this bike. Had many before. The one thing I'm not keen on with this bike is the choppy feel at lower rpm's. I love the twisties and hairpins but at low rpm's this bike isn't smooth enough for me to feel comfortable. I'm honestly considering going back to the 2015 s1000rr at this point. Just trying to do anything I can do to see if I can get it where I can live with it before I make any drastic decisions. Thank you again for the help!

I herby officially apologize for doing something my way. Not your way. I'm sorry. Pleeeeeeeease forgive me. Can we possibly, just maybe talk about what I posted the thread for though? I mean, I don't go jacking other peoples threads and letting them know how they "Should" have done it. It comes off as being rude. I didn't get the answer on the other threads. So I posted my own. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Now please either talk to me about the tuneboy, or please just don't post here.

Tune boy has good canned maps, the cruise is the killer on long boring trips but tech wise I would go with a rapid bike unit if I had to decide again.

Just for the fact that you get a reply when you write yutran an email.
Tb sucks in this regard. Might be cooler with Aussies, they might even have the app integration already. ;)

Tuneboy manuals are fine the only real issue is you need to get the most recent maps and latest firmware downloaded.

I've had 2 issues, 1 was i wasnt able to use the most recent maps because of outdated firmware and the other was a bad map. Both were solved after contacting Emma at tuneboy.

good luck, pm me if you need more info.

My TuneBoy maps for the full Termi were last loaded in about a year ago. Has Wayne released new trim files for the full Termi since then? Worth the effort to install over the previous map? Thanks in advance. By the way OP, you WILL want to use the cruise function. It really is nice for resting your right hand.
