Last saturday, went canyon riding

everything was great, got to the rest area

and after 15 min, tried to start the bike, and misfired

then it started but with very low rpm and when apply gas it stalled

repited this 2 more times

Then it started ok, but i started to ride, and the bike went ínto limp mode

it didnt go over 5,000 rpm

i rode like this for 25 min, to the next gas station

got there and turn off the bike, try starting again, and it was still on limp mode

after this, i put some gas, and waited for 15 min

and it started working great again.

dont know if it is an electrical issue

or if it is some kind of misfiring issue, because of some kind of gas build up in the gas tank, as a few weeks back, it didn’t want to start, I opened up the gas tank, and it started immediately

hope to here, if anyone has experienced similar issues

I had a similar experience. Remove the EVAP canister.

When riding when it was very hot here, 90+ F, the bike would chug or surge at low RPM. Anything below 8k. Stopping and opening the fuel tank lid to vent the vapor fixed it until the point the vapor built up again. I could repeat it time and time again.

At low RPM, below 8k, I don't think the bike has sufficient vacuum to remove the vapor from the take, or at least not enough to clear the vapor before it builds up.

I added a Y fitting to the over flow line (the rear one) from the tank and a small section of hose to connect it to the vapor line (the front one) and left everything else as is. If you leave the EVAP canister in place and leave the purge valve hooked up you won't get an engine code but the fuel vapor will be vented to the atmosphere.

The vapor hose Ducati uses is a but puzzling. The nipple it attaches to on the tank would suggest a 6mm ID hose would be the one, but they use a hose that has maybe 3mm ID.

At 10k RPM the engine has sufficient vacuum, but even in 1st gear you'd likely be well over the speed limit.

Thanks man

sound like that could be the problem

it was really hot this weekend over here

i will talk to my mechanic, to see how to remove the EVAP CANISTER

thanks

I remove the EVAP can on all of my motorcycles. They can cause issues if they get clogged/flooded.

Mine have never usually lasted this long. I’m sure they’re capable of designing a EVAP system which isn’t pure hot trash as this one.
