Hi guys,
New on here , I'm from the uk great forum.
My question is, can you fit the 1199s led headlight to a 1299 base model?
And the 1299 is a awesome bike! Cheers guys .

I spliced into my original wires and soldered them. They should fit just fine on the 1299. Just make sure you have the intake piece that sits below the headlight. I think that's what it is. I'm not home so i can't verify but it's not just the headlight.

this is the wiring diagram i used for my 1199 base to 1199S LED headlights, not sure if it is the same for the 1299.

i use one of these waterproof plugs

as double0 mention you need the bottom plastic intake piece

The 1299 headlight has a mount for the IMU. The 1199 headlight does not. You would have to find a way to mount the IMU in the same position as stock (not easy to do). If the IMU isn't mounted at the right angle, it's not going to function properly.

FYI, that wiring diagram is the same. That's what I used for my conversion.

Sumitomo HM Sealed Motorsport Motorcycle Connectors - Corsa Technic

Sumitomo HM Sealed Series 6-PIN.

Cut the factory loom back, terminate plug. The ground/0V cable is spliced into a number of smaller wires for the relays. Depending on you electrical skills you can either cut right back at the splice point and termniate plug there, solder and extent the wire, or just use 3-4 of the smaller wires and crimp into the one ground pin.

As for the sensor bracket, you would have to either source a complete 1299S LED light, or buy the bracket and screws from ducati and drill the mounting holes into the 1199S light.
The Parts manual for both can show you this.

Dumb question.......

The base 1299 has H11 lamps..... if H11 LED lamps are available ( not sure) could you just not replace the stock ones with LED rather than the whole housing?

Guys,

the entire shape of the 1299 headlight (LED an non LED) is different (basically wider) than the ones of 1199. So any 1199 headlight won't fit into the 1299 front fearing.

Do the 959/1299 now have tip over sensors? Is that what you're referring to as the IMU? I have a 959 owner interested in my 1199S headlight, I'm trying to figure out if it will work ok for him before selling it. Thanks!

Ah, I didn't see this post before I posted. Thank you, I thought just the outer part of the fairing was different. :(
