hey guys

owner of a 2013 1199s here

i have the updated heatshield but it seems like the heat issue is getting worse for me

since the weather is getting better here in vancouver and after install my R&G sliders on the ride home i didnt notice any heat

however during the night ride, I noticed that my legs were burning up as I was clamping onto the tank with my legs that it got rather uncomfortable

after i got off my bike to inspect i noticed that this part was HOT

the temperature was only 10C (50F) so it wasn't that hot out

i stumbled across this picture (attached below) which has a cover thing, anyone know exactly what that is?

or know a solution for the heat since this issue has been around since 2012

i've heard people just get a CF heat shield and put reflective heat tape all around it with mediocre result...

thanks

TONS AND TONS of threads on this throughout this entire website my friend!! I wont say the "S" word which is a link AND sticky which will help you find the hundreds of posts regarding this specific topic which will help you with MANY issues that help mitigate this issue. The biggest answer you'll find from many members is "what heat?" So search (oops) for all the threads on it and find your way to do something about the topic in question man. There are many helpful members here to provide you some relief on heat.

yea ive tried many search, and been lurking on the forum for quite some time now

most solutions have been from 2012/mid2013 hence why i started a thread to see if people have come up with new solutions that dont involve changing exhaust etc, thanks for the heads up though!

thanks to those that let me know about the covers!
will give it a try

edit:

has anyone tried the carbonvani Panigale Carbon Fiber Rear Cylinder Heat shields from http://bellissimoto.com/CarbonVani1199.html

We've been working with DEI on some race car applications of heat shielding material. We are wrapping the fuel tank outside the gasket area and covering the fuel pump as well as high temp shielding under the exhaust shield. Temp decreases were noted and while the heat issue isn't as noticeable as a street rider in town, we are concerned over the fuel pump and fuel temps.

So far, VERY happy with the results. The objective is to offer pre-cut kits to buy and apply under tank as well as shielding under the exhaust shield.

Ducati 1299 panigale heat problem 2 dollar fix solution
Hello, i have a 2015 ducati 1299 panigale and my fix of the heat problem was to go to the 99cents store and get a par of tigs and a par of cushions, glue with hot glue and use them under your pans when you ride your bike
