So they did make one for the Termi full system in carbon. Not bad at all Ducati. I had absolute faith in them fixing so for every issue with this bike.

great info , thank you

i called my dealer in canada the other day and they had no idea (so they said) about a heat shield update.

nice!

Interesting, although the heat shield fix is optional it is standard on all new production bikes. I don't see where it said that the full-termi fix was CF and even then I'm not sure I would do it. It's such a drastic change in the looks of the bike, perhaps it will grow on me when the weather warms up.

Is it fair to assume that the ECU software upgrade they refer to is the up-map that most of us have done already?

Thats my assumption...But if they have another for the 41t then this will be even more interesting....

Same thing happened to me, the regional service rep actually learned from my inquiry that there was a heat shield recall. Ended up getting the official letter last monday.

When you think about it, it's quite logical though, we're not riding before the end of march and even then, the heat will still be a good thing. They're sending the first kits to places where people actually ride.

Cheers

3rd page in the 1st note. "external one being Carbon"

Page 3. "In cases where the bike is equipped with the Ducati Performance complete exhaust system kit or silencer kit, it will be possible to install a wider cover (the external one being in carbon) for the vertical cylinder exhaust manifold (D), which is available separately from covers A, B and C."

Brochachos, I am curious about the sprocket change and please forgive my ignorance but I am still learning ins and outs of the Pani. Ducatis take a speed reading from the front ABS or will the speedo have to be re-calibrated post sprocket change?

Sweet !!!

Very informative letter I must say!
Also gives a much better indication as to what the heat shield thing looks like. I will get this done for sure if someone starts putting out a REALLY SHINY WET LOOK GLOSS model for the bike soon! :D

Since I already went ONE UP on the rear sprocket months ago I'm fine with the performance it provides me. Hey thanks for posting this man!

The carbon one show (D) looks enormous! Hopefully it's just the angle of the pic.

My pleasure :)

I wonder what the impact would be if we went with the engine covers, but left the heat shield unchanged? Even a minor improvement would make it quite tolerable in my opinion. I'm skeptical though, as I think all or most of the problem comes from the header, not the engine.

Agreed , this is most likely the way I will go with engine covers and no shield, as my biggest complaint is my leg getting too hot on the right side. Plus going to change the exhaust anyway.;)

Does this heat shield make me look fat?

Thanks for the info xpercad! New map and sprocket upgrade sounds good but I'm not so sure about the heat shield...

Would you kindly repost the original document? Looks like the link has expired.

Many thanks!
