All, anyone know of a place to source a grease gun which will allow the use of grease to be injected into the micro-port/fittings on the Ducabike Heim Joints?

They need to be lubricated since the heat from the stock exhaust seems to boil away the lubrication after every ride.

Checked around but can't seem to find what I am looking for. I have a MTB grease gun but it seems too large yet.

If I had ball bearing rearsets like on my 848 I might not worry.

However, the heat from the exhaust seems to require me to lube the shifter parts with greater frequency.

Just would like the solution besides buying another brand. Not too OCD. LoL!!

Any input on either the grease gun fitting size required or the Heim Joint size that would replace the existing Ducabike parts.

Thanks

I was trying to find photos of the heim joints on the Panigale but came up empty... are the grease fittings on those the same shape commonly found, but smaller diameter? Like these:

Or just plugs that you remove to inject the grease?

Thanks! The fittings are a micro-fitting but smaller than those Zirc fittings. Now I have another problem:

But! I got a very quick reply from Ducabike in Italy. I am gonna give them a chance to make this right. Could be a defective bolt or lower quality piece that slipped through production.

They seem to be on top of it.

Try cupping the balls
Good luck
I would also try better grease,
I use a very expensive ordnance grease,
When I come home from the bomb farm I just scope the grease off the pant legs of my coveralls,,
Heat restant, anti static, dirt repelling, and smells like simple green in a way.

Good luck

Is the zerk 5mm?
I know it's euro.
If it can be removed with a 7mm wrench
Mic the threads and you should see a 5.5mm width

If so the fitting can be ordered
I usually go on
Yahoo auctions.jp
They have everything

Thanks much!

I will try the SKF Teflon Heim joints first. Have already tried packing the grease with my hands. I'm old enough to remember my days in shop class and Timkin Bearings.

The real issue it seems is the design. No bearings, lots of stiction between parts, and a long shift arm contribute to the stress on the shifter.

The reduced friction of the SKF Heim Joints the new bolt will hopefully extend the life of the rearset to 6 months.

Ducabike and Bellisimoto have been great in their support so I can't complain about $800 rearsets. But I will say my Attack rearsets for the 848 with ball bearings were much better.

I assume that the CNC Racing set for $1000k will be just as good.
