Hi everyone,

bought a 3 year old, red, 1199 S last week - birthday present to myself. I think it has pretty much all the carbon fibre accessories! The bike is in mint condition with just 3000 miles.

Me? 1st Ducati, 4th bike. Only passed my test August 2013... I also have a Kawasaki ER6f. Traded in a Triumph Sprint ST 1050 for the 1199.

Right now it's raining (that's Manchester for you) but I intend on taking her to work later this week when it's meant to be sunny!

I've already put over 300 miles on her in a couple of days.

I forgot to mention, it was the perfect time to buy... New boiler being fitted and the Mrs is 8 months pregnant with baby number two ;)

I feel your pain, I just picked up the new R with a baby headed to us around October........ I have to pretend to be interested when I have a Panigale in the garage!! :D

Oh, and don't worry, I also hate football, you're not on your own!!

I tend to crush my testicles on the tank, and my wrists get a bit sore, but I do intend on building up to bigger mileages. Might even attempt a tour with the SW Motech bags and some appropriate rubber!

"Some parts" sounds interesting...
 
So funny, I just purchased a 2012 1199 base with 1385mi and I must admit, this bike is a monster. Also like you it was the perfect time to buy with baby number one due In Dec and I also find myself pretending to be excited with my Pani in the garage. Anyone with any extra for sale please contact me.
 
No worries, and I'd like to say in 2 weeks I've stuck on 1000 miles :)

The previous owner only averaged 1000 miles per year.
