Just picked her up today!

Went to Ducati Bellevue to test-ride a standard Panigale, with my sights set on a Panigale S Tricolore in a month or so when my Hypermotard is sold. They made me an offer on a R model I couldn't refuse...

Even with the stock suspension settings, grip levels are massive. The forks are just incredible - better than my old racebike setup. This rides like a 600cc bike powered by an atom bomb.

The exhaust is WIDE OPEN all the way from headers to exhaust tip. No cat, no exhaust valves, nothing to get in the way of the symphony it produces. She speaks to me in tongues.

A few observations in 50mi of ownership:
1. EVERYBODY from little kids to old people take notice, like an Italian Supermodel in a Lamborghini
2. EVERYBODY wants to race me, especially if they have a Honda Civic.
3. Even in race leathers with an orange backpack and a LOUD-... red bike, you are still invisible to people leaving bars with handicap tags on their cars. Wow.

Ideas for mods? Not planning much. Just adjustable rearsets after my old race mechanic sets up the suspension for me.

I'm jealous, the R wasn't out when I bought my S. Take those damn reflectors off, you said yourself they don't help you get any more attention. Rearsets, the race seat, fender kit, levers, grips, THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS :D.

Oh, and DAMN the critics BTW. The Panigale R is PERFECTLY streetable! Mo' streetable than the base model with full system I rode. Brakes are just right for the street too.

Congrats! you are a sucker and lucky Duc at the same time...that's exactly what happened to me :D
Glad to see you are aware of what this beast is capable of :)

Congrats. I did the same thing looking for a base and got a smoking deal on. A R

Welcome to the R club

Welcome from Tacoma and congratulations! I got both my bikes from DucBell and got a good deal on my Termi's for the S, but not a screaming deal. Let alone a screaming deal on an R! Although they weren't out yet. For mods, pegs or new rear sets. Consider different mirror set up. There's LuxMachine block off signals or Oberon bar ends with signals, then bar end mirrors. Or people speak well of the Rizoma Veloce. Otherwise, you have a modded bike already I think.

Hey Bronch...Did the Rizoma Veloces end up getting good reviews??? I thought from memory that they were more form over function??? No??

From memory I thought most people who had them liked them over stock. Less vibration, but not sure about rear view. Of course, maybe I'm full of crap

Well I wasn't exactly thinking you were full of crap...:D I just didn't know if my memory was failing me...:p.. They look awesome... and I agree I think it was said they did vibrate less than the stock ones (wouldn't be difficult)... I forget if it was Mark419 or someone else..but yeah I think rear view was just as bad if not worse than the oem.... and they are very expensive at around $465...

Welcome to WA, and welcome to the forum. Did they give you a free track day? A few of us might be at the Aug 12 day at the ridge, I take it you bought the last R Bellevue had, good for you awesome bike maybe we can do another WA group ride again
