So another thread from RSR asked about general field of vision but it got me thinking about my first track visit with my Arai Corsair V. Our track has three uphill corners and I found myself reaching the limits of my vertical vision and to being able to see under the top of the aperture. I had to keep pushing the chin bar up which isn't good.

Someone in the aforementioned thread said their AGV worked well in similar scenarios - does anyone else have experience on a hilly track with vertical vision being particularly good on a particular brand or model of helmet?

The vertical aspect was exactly what I was meaning to have adressed in that first post.

The new SR1 Technology has a cut out in the rear base aspect which should allow higher chin bar position without impinging on the collar in the heads up position.

That happens to me when the helmet sits low on my head(the top opening is near my eyebrow).

I've had this problem on some helmets , I guess it depends on the shape of your head vs helmet. What has worked really well for me was to insert foam under the top liner of the helmet.

When is was at a superbike school event that has an assortment of this foam with sticky tape on one side.

I would also recommend Arai helmets as they have helmets for different shape heads when viewed from above so fitment should be better.

I think the new AGV Pista will have the best vision vertical and horizontal. I have one from Europe and it is amazing but it sits back high on the forehead, which makes you look like you have a giant forehead. Lol

I recall (somewhat) years back that one or the big brand helmet manufacturers designed a helmet for motorcycle dragracers for that very issue.

The new AGV pista GP certainly looks like it will do the trick but we have no release date for Australia. I'm tempted to try the Shark Race-R but in all respects other than vision I believe it's inferior to the Corsair V.

Anyone with a Shark Race-R?

One of the main reasons I bought my Shoei X Twelve was because the eyeport is larger and you have a noticeably larger field of vision than with other helmets. This was a selling point of the helmet, but I didn't pay much attention to it until I tried it on and immediately saw the difference. It was even more noticeable the first time I went riding with it.

Shoei has this one coming out soon, my local accessory shop says next month.

SHOEI North America | GT-Air / Form and Function Redefined

May be better than the RF 1100 I have now, especially with the internal sun shield.

Anyone actually own this helmet? It looks pretty sleek! Wondering how functional
