Hey guys. So my rear insert seems to be completely stripped on the opposite side of the swingarm for my rear mudguard. Just that one screw above the exhaust. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I'm at a loss.

Happened to me too.
I used Helicoil to fix it. There are multiple other products that do the same. Helicoil is just the brand well known in Switzerland.

Did one for my front mud guard. When you buy the bolt from Ducati it comes with red loctite which I think is a little too excessive maybe blue would do. Napa Auto parts has the helicoil and it comes with a complete kit to install it.

Ohh yesssss!! When I removed those front guard screws I almost destroyed them. Ducati really used crazy glue there

Thanks so much for the help guys. I thought I was just a ....... ..... and stripped the screw. Glad I'm not the only one. ;)

i thought you shouldnt use loctite on Ti. someone posted that on a thread i will look for it. anyway the bolts from ducati suck big time. they are made to be removed once or twice then either they strip or look like complete crap. Pro ti for me as well

see anti hero says no loctite on Ti.

Use a little oil or anti-seize on 'em (do not use threadlocker on Ti) when you wrench 'em back on.

I saw a post today where Cali Duc said USE Loctite! Hmm, we need clarification. Well too late for me anyway, but the Proto bolts all come with that tiny bit of thread lock tape on them all which goes in nice! lol

anybody know the answer? 2 very good sources have different opinions. anti hero dont use loctite on TI cali duc says you can. i have no clue and respect both of their opinions. one of my friends says dont use loctite on Ti either yet as gunny says they come with thread lock tape.:confused:

Loctite will lubricate threads before curing to prevent galling. Inhibit galvanic corrosion as it prevents moisture build up and insulates against ion transfer between two dissimilar metals like the steel retaining tabs and Ti/aluminum bolts. make sure you lightly coat the entire bolt.

I use medium strength (typically blue) for any fastener M5 or bigger. Low strength (purple) for any fastener M4 or smaller.

I have always use locktite on Ti bolts on my bikes with no problem at all.
