You were as critical of the first Pani as I was. How does the R stack up against your first Pani and the Ape?? Thanks!

i guess, there are alot of differences and alot of similarities on the base and R. The R just feels...well really friggin special..even if it's not all that different from the base. Biggest things I've found better are the ohlins suspension for sure(duh), the seat that comes on the r is much better and i personally think the new heat shield does help...not sure if it's the carbon or not..but either way...my arse is hot...but nowhere near as hot as my base was.
Comparing the R to the Aprilia Factory.Well, the Ape is easier to go fast on for sure.Is it outright faster...tough to say..but I think for the average rider..they would be quicker on the ape. However, the R /pani is much angrier and feels more lively.I guess the aprilia sort of feels like in between japanese and the ducati. That might not be a perfect analogy..but kind of how it feels to me. Visually in person the R just rocks. In pictures i thought maybe it was a bit dissapointing...but in person...i love it.I ditched the big ugly mirrors, put on some small riomas and it cleaned up the look. Get thumbs up and gawkers everywhere.
In closing, maybe the Aprilia Factory is a more compliant bike...but the R Panigale hits all the buttons that make things exciting about motorcycling and it gives a feeling that would be pretty hard to beat. I'm really stoked on the bike. The Aprilia is brilliant but doesn't have the same character and that's huge for me. I love the R

totally agree. and the BMW will be easier to ride than all of these bikes but who cares ¿ ¿ ¿ they'll be close enough performance-wise but the Pani is FUN & HAS CHARACTER TO SPARE....

The R's hit up top is definetely a fair bit harder than the aprilia. I didn't have many miles on mine to be full thrashing (debatable I know) but crankin on her today, it hits pretty friggin hard....oh ya. If one can do it, the R is the best thing goin right now in my books as far as full experience on 2 wheels
