Went for a ride tonight, I have the Base abs set to P etc and i currently have about 400 mile on the clock, had the usual issues with smoking and using oil but on the whole the bike has been fantastic, dont think ive enjoyed riding so much.
Except tonight something strange happened, Id been riding about 40 mins so the bike was nicely warmed up, coming down our bypass road i slowed and turned right at a roundabout at around 30 ish mph i accelerated out the roundabout but only for a short way as i was turning right, as i braked for the turn the bike just cut out like id hit the kill switch?? which i hadnt done. electrics where still working all lights on dash where lit, so i pulled clutch in and rolled to side of road.
Hit the starter and hey presto she started up again without any issue, did another 10 or so miles and it never happened again.
Not sure what it was but has anybody else experienced this?
Im hoping it was just some Italian quirkiness coming out.
Other than that 1 little moment the bike has been superb!
Feels so planted and assured in the corners even at these lower revs and she seems to want to lean for ever!!

Yep this has happened to me once, think I was breaking hard to almost a stand still, same thing... And has almost done it another time but I managed to give it a little blip to stop it, I thought it was just part of the bedding in process or the idle tick over rpm was set too low which caused it to stall. Hasn't happened since and I've got roughly 700 on clock now and just had my 1st service today.

And with you on the rest of it, for me the riding position is better than my S1000RR and feels like it handles a lot better too, and we're not even on max rpm yet!

Just starting to play around with the suspension settings now as the race setting reduces my height by about 2 inches every time I get of the bike!

Could do with Rich from Austin racing posting some settings for a 12-13 stone rider in progressive mode if he's reading this, sorry for digressing from the original post...!

I had someting happen to me on the track with my Multi - I was going around fine and suddenly the bike cut off. Got to the side of the track, started up and took off. Shortly after the same thing happened. I was able to get the bike to the pits and found out the Kick stand switch went bad. The bike thought the kickstand was down and just shut off.

Ah!! glad im not the only one its happened too! Doesnt seem to be anything major and yeah i was braking fairly hard and had come off the throttle completely.
And if Rich from AR wants to put up the manual suspension settings for a 13st 9lb 6ft bloke i might repay the favour and buy some of his race levers!

Mine just stopped once while idling. I left it to warm up while I put my kit on and it just stopped. It hasn't done it again and it started OK again afterwards.

The kick stand light hadnt come on so i dont think it was this, who knows it may just have cough and spluttered on the overrun too much and stalled, although i was really going at any pace.

Mine did something similar yesterday. Was slowing for a traffic light and applying the brakes and downshifting with the clutch lever pulled in and it just died. Light turned green and I was still rolling. Let out the clutch and it bump started right up like nothing had happened.

Felt more like a quick shifter fault. Like somehow while downshifting it momentarily killed the ignition and since the clutch was pulled in the engine died.

Sidestand switch. I had the same issue on my HP2 and just looped the circuit, never an issue since.

Welcome to what will become the longest thread on the forum. As more people get their bike they will start reporting stalling. Then a few will blame the ecu or aftermarket exhaust vs stock. Blah blah blah. Some will have the cure, turn the screw one ful turn etc etc. The end result is, LIVE with it. It happen on my 1098 until I gave up, It happened on my Diavel and all I can say is Ducati knows its bikes stall and has known for over ten years but you will not find an answer ever from them.

Can't say I experienced this issue on my S4RS or1098S with close to 40K miles on the clock combined.

Never had a stall with my Multi or wifes Monster

I would like nothing better than to be proven wrong. The 1098s stalled like crazy, after many recalls and "fixes" I had to sell mine and many others did the same. Look at the diavel forum, longest thread is about stalling. Now the 1198 stalls,. Ducati has never given an answer to this problem. Again hope to be proven wrong.

NO stalling issues on my SF (1098 motor) and Ive 17k miles on it since new so that's not true in all cases. I know the 749/999 series were bad for it.

It's my understanding some of the stalling issues were solved by resetting the tps.
