Expat Brit living in MT? I'm looking at buying a 1199R thought I'd better join this excellent forum,
Started out with 1960 ex Vic Camp 200SS then went decades with other brands before buying 05 999R which I deeply regret selling to buy a stupid house that I no longer own

Welcome! Definitely buy the R. I've got a lowly base model, albeit a bit modded, and it's the best sportbike I've owned in 23 years at this. Everything I hear about the R makes me think I should have saved up and waited a bit.

I was looking at maybe an S but by the time one buys all the goodies your in R territory anyway. dealers near to me are in Denver - Fort Collins as I work in ND Bakken oilfield.
Fay Meyers were touting all there praises on history & factor trained Mech's but I hope to shop and bid 1 against the other for best deal, should I look else where, apparently importer has them 7-10 days delivery to a dealer

Welcome. I don't recommend buying one. Living in Bozeman, your riding season will be shorter than mine. You'll end up sitting in the garage with it keeping it company while it's dumping outside. It's a sad existence. :D

Check out Northern Colorado Eurocycles (Loveland). Their Service dept has always treated me really well. I've had issues in the past with service at Fay Myers, though it has been quite awhile since I've dealt with them so maybe they've sorted it out
