Hey Guys, long time lurker first time poster.....

Well I picked up my 2013 1199 base ABS yesterday afternoon. I sold my 1290 Superduke to get it. I'd watched every youtube review and read everything there is on the net about it....(with them all saying how much of an impractical, ill tempered beast it is) people were telling me I was crazy to sell such a 'sensible' road bike as the KTM, but I still brought it....

And I can now say, after a blast through the hills on the way home from picking it up and a commute through stop start traffic in the pouring rain this morning... I'm completely and utterly in love with this bike!!!
Yes its not very comfortable....yes it gets hot and yes it doesn't like going slow...and I now sit here at my desk with my legs feeling like I've been sitting on the Sun for an hour.... but bloody hell its fun!!

so happy!!! :p

Cheers
Lee

Congrats on your purchase, great spot to own an 1199, some awesome roads your side of Australia and welcome to the forum.

Welcome and Enjoy! You guys get better weather up north we copp either 40 or negative 40 down here :(

Just got back from Melbourne yesterday from a 4 day get away.
The weather on the weekend was absolutely lovely:)

Love the food, love the history, love the people;)
Nearly bought a Maserati on impulse:eek:
But they didn't have exactly what we were looking for.
They're doing deals on the LCT at the moment, which makes it very tempting.

May have to pay the full price and get the colour, wheels, callipers and interior we want:(
Then It's a 9 month wait for it to be built from the time of placing the order.
We are so fortunate to have easy access to great roads close around Brisbane and places to go for a ride/drive.

Gotta agree with you there Brad in regards to the food and history even the cultural diversity we have down here. Nice roads are a bit of a ride away for me. My tyres square off on the freeway by the time I get to places like Marysville and Black Spurs lol

Lee,
Welcome to the forum. We all love this bike, stay safe and if you are ever in Sydney drop by.

cheers

haha Thanks Guys. First track day booked for Saturday after next. Cant wait to see what this thing can really do! :)
