Is it my imagination or is the 1299 much hotter than the 1199!! The heat coming off the exhaust was bad on the 1199 but here in Blighty it's been flipping hot and the 1299 is trying to kill me with the heat it's pumping out!!
Forgive me if this has been mooted before.
 
It's simple physics, to get more power out they increased the displacement. Bigger displacement allows for more fuel to make bigger bangs and develop more power.

More fuel + bigger bangs = more heat, so yeah, your 1299 is definitely hotter than an 1199
 
should have kept the perfectly good 1199 !!!
I will go for a blast later but as it's hot been wearing mcycle jeans and my right leg is getting scorched. My husband commented I didn't look as comfortable on the Panigale as the Multi, I said it's because I'm trying to keep my right leg out away from the heat! I will try my leathers see how it goes
 
Also coming from 1199 to 1299 but I dont feel the 1299 is hotter, maybe its because I always wear leather pants.

Mmm leather pants from now on. Wore my brilliant Knox mesh jacket I had as a Christmas present , could feel breeze through it. 2 not so observant people tried to knock me of as I was doing abt 15 mph-20mph our of M.D. my Estate. One came from a side road to my right and slammed on half across the junction when he saw me. The other came from a side road on my right around parked cars where they couldn't see half into my lane!!
Thus is the disadvantage I suppose of sports bikes you are low down hidden behind cars etc whereas my Multi has height for me to see and be seen.
You people take care out there
 
i put heat tape on the bottom side of seat, it's really helped a lot, now the seat is not hot.
 
30? That is perfect weather for riding!

Try riding in 43-44 degree weather, then yea, that is HOT!

Yeah, mine is hot in jeans but OK in leathers. As long as you are doing 100kph or more it is OK too, engine temp drops into the top half of the 60's.

It's hot for Blighty. The Gingers are dying out! I haven't seen rain for nearly 2 months now which is actually quite a feat. In the grand scheme of things 38-39 isn't hot either more of an unpleasant embuggerence. But I digress. I went to Boston (not the one where the traitorous colonials dumped all our tea in the oggin, the gits :p)Bike night yesterday, not a pleasant experience being stuck in traffic. Bike was well over 100c. At one set of traffic light I actually got off it. Ridiculous.
