Hi guys,

I just got my 1199R, and i'm thinking of fitting the aero kit and the taller screen myself, as the dealer is going to charge me an arm and leg.

I can't seem to find a thread of anyone installing these items yourself, if there is i apologize and please direct me to the thread.

if there isn't, can someone explain to me, how difficult is the whole process?

Hehehehehehe yeah that is not a dealer, that is a stealer. Come to Centurion where on of the ex Ducati franchise holders (Ultimate Performance) can set you right for a fair price or to Edenvale where another ex Ducati franchise holder (Ducati Edenvale) can set you right at a fair price. :D

Yeah why not? You knew better yet you still bought from the stealership.

Not sure about the 1199R 15 but with the 1199 you could not get to two of the nuts on the back side of the screen. What a lot of people have done me included when I put the race screen on was to superglue spare nuts in position on the screen. Place it on and carefully capture with the little M4 bolt. Worked for me and save pulling it all apart. Aero kit is easy just trim and use some clear tape to stop scratches. I read that on here recently. Good advice.

I think you got the 14R correct? To do it with no super glue (which could be viable), you will have to remove the front cowling... its not terribly hard, just time consuming. The only issue i have with superglue method 1) not a fan of putting super glue on my ducati 2) I have the worst possible luck, and I would drop the rubber grommets on disassembly and never find them again, but always some how hear them when i rode (just know my luck all tooooo well.

Congrats on the bike!

Thanks guys, my bike went in for a starting issue. Lol.

I've requested them to actually just fit the aero kit and screen for me while it's there.

I'm the worst person when it comes to tools. Give me a tax question any day, but don't give me a spanner.

Yeah, i know they are the "stealership" especially what they did to our warranty! But what other choice do i have? I really wanted a brand new R, and they the only importers.

Okay so i didn't fit it myself at the end, i went to a dealership around me to fit it.

They did it for free, don't know why?

I've attached some pics, i was with them the whole process, but the quality Ducati made these aero kit was not the best, and the screen is just awesome.

Did some rough measurements, the aero kit sticks out about 1,5cm more than standard. This might equate to a further 3,5cm outwards push on the wind when going fast.

The screen as you an see, is very tall, so it will work!

It's currently around 5degC outside, so i'm not planning on riding. Once it warms up, i'll make give some feedback of my own on how the difference these makes.
