How do you fit pillion pegs with Full Termi's.

Question:

CaliDuc, is the latest version of the Full Termi Carbon heat shield the one that was delivered with the 1199R?

I have no particular need to alter my shield for the passenger pegs and will have them removed this weekend when I have my oil change/Termi's installed. My wife hinted she wanted to get a motorcycle license when I bought my 1199 so I bought her a CBR600 to learn on. Best $11k I ever spent.

Yes it is. On my R I have the latest FTC hs. I was thinking about grinding of the two front legs and use two holes in stead of four. The only one who is going to sit on the back is my son (8 years) of 70 lb. The pegs cling together with two smaller bolts. Curious if it will hold.

The current shipping version of the 1199R (with a Full Termi) has the lastest carbon heat shield.

My women loves the 1199 S Tricolore and has stated a preference to ride that bike ... which leaves me with my 1098 S Tricolore .. urrm. Silver lining is that she suggested that I go and get an 1199R that way we can both ride 1199s and we can take turns riding different versions of the 1199. I decided to explore modifying/fabricating new passenger pegs and review a 1199R purchase after I have completely finished modifying the 1199S Tricolore.

I discussed this with Ducati North America, feedback was a caution against attaching to purely two bolts .. looks like a workable solution would be to use a spread plate with struts. Like I said I am investigating so I will let you know what the final solution is.

Eitherway, I will continue to work with Ducati NA directly on a solution.

I wish Rizoma would offer stylish, removable passenger pegs.

Reading this discussion I do not have the Termis...yet....but I would like to pose a question. and general answers are fine but how much do you alls riders weigh...

My 1098 was pretty sturdy subframe but it was a small rear pillion...the panigale looks even worse......I have only had my bike about 3 days of riding...its been in the shop the rest of the time but I do have girls who like to ride but the subframe of the panigale look slightly less sturdy....

i mean im not putting a hefer on the back or anything but whats the average pillion rider weigh or size of the owners here?

My wife is 5'7", around 110#.

Kids are smaller.

I have an aesthetical aversion to anything bigger than that behind me. Not likely to be putting one of my buddies on the back any time soon.

I was at my dealer last weekend and they said not to use two bolts only for the rear pegs. You need the triangle to bolt on, but not possible with full Termis. Hope there will be solution.

hi I have just bought my ducati 1199 abs and rear passenger footpegs are on.i have a full termi exhaust system on the bike and I have now decided to take them off for good.i have read a few ways of removing them with the full termi system on is it that difficult a job?i think its a trip to the dealers rather than mess things up.

They wont fit

I have full termi's fitted and I don't think its at all possible to fit pillion pegs on because it takes up 2 of the bolt holes as it sits further back then stock heat shield.
