How much oil is your 15R using?

I just picked up a new 15R but will break it in according to the Ducati manual. It's the same as my 13 R and it's doing fine. I'm not smarter than Ducati about their motors although I believe I could have come up with a better way mount their mirrors and windshield!

Good Post !

Hey RD: After you had your engine work done, did you do a new "break-in?" Mine is done (both cylinders), should be getting it back in time for Miller in 3 wks. Shop felt that a few sessions below 8k and varying RPM's would be enough....

I've got a question for Speedy14 and anyone else interested. When visiting the factory in Bologna you can see that all the bikes go through a fairly thorough dyno engine run in once built. Surely this makes any advice about 'breaking the engine in hard in the first twenty miles' irrelevent. For the record I do agree that it's not good to ride like a granny for the first 600 miles and I make sure the engine gets some good reving to bed in properly. The link referenced here looks far to close to the 'get massive in two weeks without exercise' type websites for my liking.

...the few rides i did just after getting it back were reasonable, and probably below 8000rpm....right now, (full use of tach)....no drips :)
