61 years young as of June 8th.
I Started out in the late 60's on mini bikes. Raced motocross from 1978 to 1986r.
I started out on a 1976 Suzuki TM 125. Then an RM 125. Then a RM 250. And finally on a 1983 Yamaha YZ 490. (A very powerful but evil handling 2 stroke). I had my share is mishaps but finally realized I could actually get hurt at the age of 30. LOL.
I Crossed it up behind a Husky 390 and endo'ed and collapsed right lung and cracked my entire sternum. THAT got my attention. (I am still hurting from it to this day ). After that it was just Hare and hound scrambles for a few years and then I sold the bike and stayed off motorcycles until I was 49. Then I got a 2005 FJR 1300. (Great bike) but I soon tired of it. It was just too big and lumbering for my tastes)
Then it was a Kawasaki ZX1400. Did some Texas Mile runs. Got a 190.8mph. Run with just exhaust and power commander. Not bad for a 6'5" 230 lb old fart!
I'm not what you would call aerodynamic LOL. Then came the track days. Started with a 2008 CBR 1000. (Great starter bike for the track). I Did a lot of suspension mods etc. did about 6 track days over the year and seemed to take to it quickly... I then moved up to expert level Of course then I wadded it up at TWS
Then I moved to a 2011 Kawasaki ZX10r. It was an awesome track bike (the one in my avatar). Well I just sold it and bought my first Ducati. A 1299 S. It is awesome and I have done two track days one at TWS and one at COTA here in Austin. I am still trying to get my brain readjusted to it. LOL. It requires a very different riding style than the screaming inline fours I am used to. I have always admired the Ducati's. They are a beautiful and so unique.
Well I finally went for it and now I am of course adding exhaust and other tid bits to fit me..
Oh well. I'm 61 and still at it so I feel blessed.
