Quick survey. Is anyone running without a rear hugger?
Took mine off to change it a bit and really liked the look of the bike without it.
I know that without it you would get more dirt and on wet roads even more water on your back.
But I am wondering if it could have any negative effects, there was someone on the forum who has had a couple of cracked rear headers, so I am wondering if you are riding on a hot day and hit a pool of water if the water spray on the rear cylinder and exhaust could cause problems?
On a tranverse motor all the heat is on front and traditionally a hugger just saved the rear shock from grime.

On a side note, the hugger scuffed the swing arm at the bottom corner where it meets the chain guard....

I think all the sensors are hiddin just above the hugger correct me if i'm wrong?

I did not really, had a flat on the rear at 3500km, installed new decals and new tyre. So the front has 8500 on it and the rear has 5000. I commute a lot, I use this bike every day for work and meetings, only get out for mountain blasts once in a blue moon....

How do you get a set of tyres to last 8500 kms on this bike? :(

on my previous GSXR1000 did 10K km (everyday vehicle) with a set of Michelin Pilot Supersport tires... grip lasted till their last day (I have an great right turn on my way home, so I know :p)
