Adding carbon blings to my bike and hating the silver metal pieces on the bike. So, I took them to the local shop and tried out the hydrographic services they have. Turned out decent. Guess I'll start taking more pieces that I can't find in carbon replacement to them.

very nice... I am thinking hydro dipping my elecontrics trays this winter..

Hydrographic carbon on a Ducati is like wearing a fake Rolex. Each to his own I suppose, but I say to ArseHammer with the proponents thereof.

I know it's fake carbon. But, I can't find any place make real carbon fiber for these pieces beside the kickstand. I'm going with a lot of real carbon pieces from shift-tech, bellisimoto, cdi or whatever that place called, BST carbon wheels, etc. just can't stand seeing the silver metal pieces. That was the reason why I chose hydrographic on them. I'm sorry my carbon fiber standard wasn't up to some of you. All that matters is I like it, and just sharing to those who in the same boat.

As far as durability, they applied automotive clear coat on the parts, so the finish should last as long as the paint on our fairing. That's good enough for me.

The separation of Ducatisti and Douchcatisti...

One loves their Ducati and wants to make special to them. The other passes judgment on owners that don't do things the way they would.

Me, I use vinyl wrap on a few bits to give things a better look. The Hydrographic option is really damn cool. :D

Boy does that expression makes me cringe

And I think you misinterpreted it for one rides the .... out of them and uses them how they were intended and the other tarts them up so they look good parked outside of Starbucks.

As for hydrographic tape I'm sorry but putting sticky back carbon tape on your bike is just ...., I don't care if you think it looks better it's so wrong in so many ways, next I'll be told that underbody light kits are cool.

And that OTHER GUY who tarts them up, racks up miles riding the piss out of the bike, tracks it and goes to bike nights & other events.

Oh .........i didn't know Starbucks banned Ducatis

....pushinggg it over to Subway...

Nicely done hydro...adhesion will be the main factor. Curious to see how it'll withstand heat.

Ride a bike how it was intended? Like any manufacturer in the motorcycle world gives a .... how the consumer decides to ride his or her bike after a sale has been made. Hell, if anything, for warranty purposes alone, most manufacturers would be opposed to riding motorcycle hard and putting all that stress on a bike.

If someone wants to buy an SL and show it off at bike shows, bike nights or even starbucks, so be it. If someone wants to ride it like a ..... and just putt around town in stop n go traffic, so be it. If someone wants to ride it 90% of the time WOT, so be it. Point is, people here share their creativity with other members to see what other options there are and how things may look if one decides to take that route with their bikes. I get that when you post on a forum, you're exposing yourself to criticism and judgment about taste or lack thereof but how someone decides to ride their bike is their own decision. There is no specific intention of how a motorcycle is supposed to be ridden. If an owner shares the same joy staring at his bike as a showpiece on his living room floor in the same exact way another person does as his dedicated racebike, guess what....you're both getting your money's worth. Nothing else matters.

reganc,
I am shocked what do you mean underbody lighting kits are not cool ?

I just received my new Puce (pink) coloured LED Light kit off a chinese supplier on Ebay and was going to fit it up today, get some photos tonight down at the cafe and post tomorrow morning.

now I am so upset I am thinking about sending them for a refund and buying a Lorenzo Number 99 sticker kit for my bike instead as I am such a JL fan.

I will get pics up as soon as I can.:D

Actually I think Led body lightning is cool. And I'd like to be seen by others as much as possible. Got a few ideas of led positioning on the bike. That day will come :))
