There is another post on here about if it's ok if the Pani being your only bike, for commuting and such. To expand on that, for those of you with multiple bikes, I'd be interested to see if you could only have one bike, for commuting, fun, everything, what would it be? Obviously there are a lot of people that have the Pani as their only bike, I already know your answer. I'm curious to know specifically with you guys that have multiple bikes, since several on the other post suggested they didn't think a Pani was a good idea for your only bike.

hands down no hesitation. The 13 mts gt I've had for five months or so (7k miles so far!) is the bike I'd have if I could have no other.' It works well for everything I've done, mountain riding, super slabbing, commuting.....

Not practical, and I'd need a pit crew. Hey, we all have to dream.

If I could only have one bike, and I had to use it to commute and such (ie....no car, either) I'd go for a BMW R1200GS or Ducati MTS 1200, I think.

But I'm not a big fan of touring bikes, I do have a four wheeled vehicle, and I can have more than one bike.....thankfully.

I absolutely love this bike. I've put a Sargent seat on it for comfort. Stock it dyno's at 123 rwhp. I added a full Akropovic 4 into 2 and a PCV and it dyno'd at 140 rwhp and over 82 lb ft of torque. Since this picture was taken I've also added a tinted windshield and a tidy tail.

Norton NVR588 Rotary, or a Britten, tough decision, these would be two of mine, however love my Panigale and more than happy as it is the only bike I currently own.

I would have to pick my 1198SP. I love them all, but the 1198 is the Big Dog...

I like my HP2 Enduro as an all-rounder. Did 1500mi through Baja on it, long road trips and plenty of dirt. An Aprilia Tuono and a MTS would also be good choice IMO. I do a few long trips a year and usually includes offroad and camping as part of the route so my one bike would have ideally be dual sport.

Hmmmmm

For you Top, its a tough choice I am sure since you have so many Ducati's to choose from man! Good seeing you back on here again my friend! Hope things are all well down at "the shop" and look fwd to seeing you soon! :D

ps. Wait until you see my final results in the upcoming photos we are scheduled to shoot this Sunday! If you want them before anyone else shoot me your email address at [email protected] . Dave & Jason are gonna like this I think!

I posted on the other thread about this but I've had a MTS1200S, Diavel Carbon Red, and the Pani S, all at the same time... and since I got the Pani S, I've been riding it about 90% of the time. Sold the others because I felt guilty every time I went to the parking garage and found them looking at me with sad puppy eyes. I only have the R now and can't think of anything else I rather ride for my commute and weekend rides.

To be fair, I bought the MTS thinking that I would be doing long tours but never really found any time for that. The longest I've rode the MTS was about 500km each way.

I regularly do 300km rides and find the Panigale very comfortable for that kind of distance.

Love it and can't wait for another version to come out!

Having owned Ducs and Jap bikes at the same time, I always gravitated to the Ducs as my hands-down favorites. Owning multiple bikes is VERY enlightening. You appreciate the subtle nuances of each bike more than the sum of its parts when you throw a leg over different bikes back to back.

I only own the Pani now, but might pick up a ZX10R for even more fun - I'll always have a place in my heart for those after wrecking my '04 10R. Regardless, the Pani R will be my favorite and only choice if I had to go with one.

Not a great pic but I always had an amazing time riding these back-to-back!

My POV is that it depends on the type of riding you enjoy, and given the opportunity different horses for different courses is best. At the same time, I had the following a few years ago:

A Buell XB9SX, only about 80 rwhp but about the best city bike because of the flat torque curve and super-quick steering (awesome noise too):

A Buell Ulysses that my wife says was the most comfortable bike she's ever ridden on. Still super-quick steering and fun torque, waterproof Hepco & Becker bags held a surprising amount of groceries, got 50+ mpg and could run all day/night:

Buell 1125R - astoundingly competent, with telepathic handling, almost the perfect street sportbike and great liquid-cooled V-Twin power:

MV Agusta F4 1000R - Astoundingly fast, uncomfortable unless riding at 8/10+, capable of serious lap times on track (much to my surprise), and noise to cause "eargasms" (this one is so beautiful it deserves 2 pictures)

Now after having kids I can only have one, and since I love all kinds of riding, but still like being somewhat competitive on track, the 1199 is the latest-greatest and I love it.

But as I find less and less time for racing and track days, I might be able to get all my jollies and be kinder to my ageing bones on just one bike. Something that has almost all the above attributes, super-quick telepathic handling, soulful motor sounds, sophisticated electronics, exotic appeal and maybe just a bit more comfort than the 1199, even though she is pretty comfy:
