If you happen to have your plastics off...

...I'm trying to figure out if this particular wiring loom is supposed to have 3 or 4 wires in it.

On the right hand side, this is what the ignition switch plugs in to, right next to the Mitsubishi ECU.

As you can see, there are 3 wires in the plastic now. But there are 4 wires and 4 holes... the 4th wire is in the black wrap, barely poking out.

I think it may have pulled out on my recent wreck... but if so, it sure came out clean. But maybe this is the culprit to the bike not even trying to start.

I would have guest the servo motor but likely not as its not starting.
Have you traced it down to where it leads to ?

Is it this plug?

The plug looks like it's the kill switch connector. Is the kill switch damaged? You may want to check it's operation to verify if it's working properly.

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!

Just getting back from vacation, but I plan on working on this tonight. It *looks* like the problem is that wire. I have no idea how it pulled out of the harness without damaging it (or even looking like it was in there to begin with), but it's worth a try!

THANK YOU!

interesting! I've had the electronics panels apart a hundred times; I got carbon fiber replacements and fitting them was a nightmare, and I had to get creative with arranging the components. I thought I'd seen every connector in there but never have noticed that one. Good to know!

Sorry for the slow update. This was the issue with the whole system not even trying to start.

I'm going to have to bypass the harness for that one wire, which kind of sucks, but is reasonable.

That said, now the engine will crank, just not start. Sounds very... throaty. I'm going to look at the manual and see about spark plugs and intake. Air, Spark/Electricity, Fuel. I'm guessing spark is the culprit.

Ok, I have the plastics, silencer, and radiators off. Anything anyone needs photos of or more details about? Figure I can offer to pay it forward...
