Hi all,

We've been having issues with our race bikes and the IMU of the 2015 Panigale R. Is there a specific angle to mount the unit at or a specific orientation? Is it just the same as the Panigale S mounts i see commonly here on the forums? Help is much appreciated. At the moment the wheelie control number flashes on and off and it appears not to be working

Hope someone can chime in.

The IMU mounts different on the R as is goes to the S due to the LED lights .The angle is very specific if the angle is not correct you will get errors .
This is how I have mine mounted

Hi Wilkson,

Thanks so much for the reply, Just to clarify, all the models with LED lights have the same mounting position? Thus the S and R use the same mount? Can I have details on the angle you used on your bracket as I'd like to fabricate my own.

Looks great bracket, How did you manage to figure out the correct angle ?

I'm running a 1199 Race brkt/fairing setup on a 1299S and need make bracket myself.

I just finished the IMU on my bike.

wilkson and tcelano both make brackets (thanks guys!!) but they are slightly different. wilksons replaces the whole thing, and must be set at the correct angle as he suggests.

the bracket that tcelano makes uses the original IMU holder (which mounts perfectly flush at a flat angle) so the original angle remains intact.

both brackets work, and both dudes are awesome and have been very helpful in PMs. I don't think I'd be nearly as far along on my race conversion without wilksons help.

I'm using an 1199 ebay fairing stay and 1199 race fairings, BTW, and have just finished the entire process, so let me know if you need any help (i have an S, not an R, though)

I took a measurement of the IMU when mounted on the headlight and just copied that angle . It worked out spot on .

Hi guys
When you are saying you are getting errors what kind of errors exactly ? Does the dash through a code ? Thx.

This possible difference in IMU mounting between S and R could be why the Ducati 1299 track bodywork kit is not showing as fitting the R model on their product info.

The IMU mounts differently because of the headlight . The R fits the same as the base .

That IMU 1199R 2015 plastic mount set up lookslike its more flexible to being used with race bracket. I wonder if it can just be mounted directly to a race bracket and be at the correct angle????

I'm gonna have a go at making the 1299S Plastic IMU mount work at first.

First need to level the bike up, then mount one side of it to race bracket with dash on showing the lean angle on dash and get it straight, then the problem of getting the other angle right so it doesn't causes problems with the anti-wheelie control, which I'm guessing ? I will only find out when I ride the bike ???

My own created IMU bracket, it works on the original front fairing bracket and at an DBHolders front fairing bracket.

As above the one on the motoholders bracket looks like it will cause problems? When I first did my R I used a similar setup and it would cut the power when exiting the corners as if I had the TC set high. I ended up going back to stock headlight blank as I was frustrating trying to solve it. The one on the rubber grommets looks better but I'd imagine with the grommets on the vertical that the unit is going to move too much still?

I have a 2014 1199 Superleggera and was wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase the IMU bracket to use with race fairings?

My setup with the Motoholders 1299 fairing stay still transfers way too much vibration. I will figure something better out since my short season is over.
