I have a 1299 base which has many upgrades and ill be upgrading my suspension. I have a 2015 S1000R that I am keeping with all the aftermarket addons. My 2016 S1000RR is the one I would most likely sell since it has the least amount of aftermarket parts added on. The best items in my opinion added to my 2016 RR is the Austin racing cat delete exhaust, Gilles tooling rear sets, and Rapid bike + My tuning. I was thinking of selling the 2016 RR with the add on's I mentioned plus the many I didnt list and getting either the aprilia factory Tuono V4, Aprilia RSV4 factory, wait till theh newest Aprilia RSV4 factory comes out or the Ducati V4S. Those that have ridden the new Ducati V4, can you let me know how it compares to the 1299 Panigale? I will not get rid of my 1299 base Panigale because of the fact it is a twin even if not the 1299s but Im getting either an ohlins or bitubo suspension upgrade. And I love how it rides.

However Ill keep my naked S1000R with all the mods I did to it. But regarding my S1000RR, thats the bike I would sell or trade in for the 2019 or 2020 Aprilia V4 RSV4 factory that is coming , Aprilia Tuona factory or Ducati V4S. Those that have the V4 or V4S, can you tell me what you love or dislike of the V4 over the 1299? I know there are differences especially V twin over the V4. But can you go into detail? I would most likely go for a 2019 over a 2018 even though the motor and electronics have been tried and proven and trickled down from motogp bikes. But thats just me. Ok ready to hear everyones thoughts an opinions.

Good morning,

The first question would have to be what are you buying the bike for? This will have a big impact on which bike is right for you.

Im my opinion you cant really compare a V4S with an Aprilia Tuona as they are totally different bikes, built to achieve two totally different goals. Personally I have an RSV4 and a V4S and use them mostly for track use with the occasional spirited road ride and under these circumstances I would say although they are both incredibly capable bikes the V4 is just in a league of its own.

As for a comparison to a 1299, I have been fortunate enough to spend a fair bit of time on one, and personally I have never a big fan. Im not keen on getting roasted alive from the intergraded nut roaster and I find the power delivery a bit reminiscent of a 80's turbo car.

You cant deny the 1299 is a seriously fast bike but it only really makes the power between 8000-12000rpm and hits like a sledge hammer, the V4's power delivery however is so much more liner and useable it is just a smooth wave of power right the way through the rev range, and for me this makes it so much easier to ride and gives me more confidence through the bends.
As for ergonomic and handling aspects all I can say is go and ride one, everyone has a different riding position and the comfort of the bike is a very personal thing that varies from person to person.

When it comes to the handling anything I write just wont do it justice, you need to experience this for yourself.

*Obviously as with all these things this is just my personal opinion and i'm sure others will feel very differently.

Good luck

I was not a great fan of the V4 to start with but mostly I don't like street riding and that was the introduction to the bike but now I have had a few decent sessions on the track I'm really loving it .
As mentioned the power is linear user friendly the chassis feels a lot less nervous and really settled ergonomically for me is really comfortable.
I'm looking forward to setting it up more and still early days but I think I may like this bike more than the 1299 and I loved the 1299 .

Hey thanks for the write up guys. One thing to watch a youtube video if this bike being tested and anothet thing reading up on the bike being ridden by owners.
