Bottom line, they're OK as off-season rubber where the road conditions are more the limiting factor than the tires, and they'll keep the rims off the ground 'till Spring; but I've crossed PP3's off my list for future use.

I've never had such issues, on the road or 7 track days this summer in temps from upper 90s to upper 30s. Perhaps I am not pushing as hard as you.

Granted, I found the Super Corsa SCs to be fabulous tires; but, I could not really feel any difference.

Interesting, thanks! Any reasonable pace on track is going to be putting a lot more load into tires than I do on the street; I do like to sport it up a bit when conditions allow, but I'm not crazy. Runoff on the street usually translates as run into something hard... ;)

Have played around with pressures a bit so maybe I just haven't found the PP3's happy place yet. I've generally run Supercorsa's and Q3's at 32/32 on the street for playing around, with S20's a bit higher. Back in the day the old Pilot Powers (not 2CT) liked even a bit more due to their very pliable carcass. I've tried the PP3's as high as 36 and as low as 29 just to get a feel for their pressure sensitivity. I gather Michelin recommend 30F/28R on track, and was running 32F/31R cold when I had them sliding around on me. More a lateral, mid-corner slide than a spinup, though it was on the power. Gradual and easy enough to keep in hand, but was surprised to get any looseness at all at that pace on a good surface. Been through there with a good bit more pace on before with no drama.

Just adding for clarification since this is a Q3 thread, my comments about slides and lack of edge grip refer to the Michelin PP3's I have on at the moment, not the Q3 which I had no such issues with.

I am running the Q3s at 30 cold on the street for very fast road-riding; 32 cold for sport rides that are still fast, yet more casual.
At the track; I run the Q3s at 27-to-29ish cold, depending on the outdoor temps, and try and keep them there-abouts throughout the day.
 
With so many new bikes in 2015 using 200 rear, you think Dunlop and other tire manufacturers start making bigger tires to accommodate the market?

There are definitely more coming; for instance the new R1 is spec'ed with a new Bridgestone RS10 in 200/55. No doubt intended to slot into the gap between the S20 and the R10, that should be a very nice tire. And if they ever get around to bringing the existing S20 EVO to the states, those already come in 200/55. Conti make them already also, as do Michelin in the Power Supersport.
 
I'm switching to Q3's soon, I know the oem pirellis are 200/55 should I go with the 190/55 or the 200/50 for the Q3? Is it just personal preference or is one better to run than the other?

Yes been all through it lol guess I'll have to go refresh my tire size info and see what the differences are as far as sizes go and what to run
 
Went and ordered a set of the 190/55's today, curious to see what changes if any I will need to make.
 
I can say the Q3's are pointier than the Pirelli's. Was amazed than I'd literally turn my head and the bike wanted to lean in and change directions...

Can't wait till spring here in Chicago to get some miles on the bike

Just remember to keep an eye on the front ABS sensor cable, the Q3's are taller and I have seen some that rub on the cable under the front guard. Mine is close but clear, a mate of mine had some rubbing on the cable but we caught it before it rubbed through.
Great tyre though, and doesn't seem to have an impact on the traction control system or ABS.

Just bumping this post as an FYI since I see that the Bridgestone S20 EVO's are in channel and available in the US now. Street price around $255 a set with the 200/55 rear. Likely my next set.

Double bump ; The new RS10's are showing up in channel too, including a 200/55, replacing the BT003RS. That should be a tasty tire for misbehaving on... :p
